If I want high quality prints, what kind of price range should I look at? Does toner quality matter or is it mostly just compatbility in cartridges(or however they come?) and all the same stuff?

I'd like to print some photographic quality stuff (greyscale) if possible without it costing too much but if the price difference is significant I can just do the greyscale stuff at a store instead since I don't need much. Just want to print some guides and want simple product images to go along with the text.

laser will not give you photo quality like an inkjet but for everything else even a cheap one will do the job. keep in mind that the toner cartridges can be expensive but nowhere near as bad as buying ink.

Depends if you're doing it "from scratch" or not.
Like gtk or qt _could_ be twisted to do that, but you'll have to poke around at the lower level wayland interfaces, because xdg_toplevel isn't really the right type of surface for that.

If you're doing it yourself, all you truly need is libwayland-client and something capable of drawing into some shared memory, e.g. Cairo + freetype2.

I have a PG32UCDM OLED, but I'm on Windows 10 which means no RTX HDR and terrible presentation of SDR content and windows itself if HDR is enabled. So I tend to keep it off.
Sorry but I can't imagine RTX HDR is worth upgrading to Windows 11.
