I think I had that in my HP Pavillion PC from 2009. Went from some basic card the PC came with to an 8800gt to that. Ran that rig (with other upgrades along the way) up to 2018. Card was awesome.

>Being concerned that TSMC’s expansion into the United States could dilute Taiwan’s semiconductor leadership, Taiwanese authorities are mulling setting a new export rule that would only let the world’s number-one foundry export technologies that are two generations behind its leading-edge production node

kinda funny, not gonna lie. apparently the taiwanese think america is somehow obliged to protect them from the mainlaind. just because, apparently.

No? It seems they think exactly the opposite. They think if the burgers can get the same chip tech at home, then they have no reason to give a fuck about Taiwan. They want the tech to stay in Taiwan so the burgers have a reason to defend them.
>>
>>107614774
Do you think them moving to the us increases or decreases their chances of being protected by other countries?
>>
>>107615332
they still don't have to defend taiwan, simply stop china from getting the fabs. that would immediately make the us number one globally. taiwan basically needs goodwill at this point.

Should I connect it to the mobo or is that fan still working as intended connected to the PSU?

It's probably drawing more power than it needs to in its current state. If you connect it to the motherboard it will work harder when the system heats up and slow down while idle.

Worst case it will run at around 4800CL40, so you may lose a third of the regular performance of a typical 6000CL30 kit (in benchmarks). In some shit games that are somehow performance bound by memory speed, you'll probably lose 15-20% of 1% lows. It's not great but for cheaper builds it might be good value.

hello, do you have brain damage?

By the end of 2026, there will be ~5,400 data centers being built or fully operational.

Each data center consumes as much energy as ~1,000,000 US households.

That would mean AI data centers will consume as much energy as nearly 1,000,000,000+ people, considering each household = 2-3 people.

Cost of electricity and hydro will cost 200-300% more by the end of 2026, since energy production in the US has remained stagnant for decades.

Is this sustainable?

eh, i've taken better photos on my oneplus 3t (2016, 16MP) than my galaxy s21 ultra ("108MP" which is binned to 12MP), mainly because the s21u doesn't allow for long exposure times. if you just use the ootb camera software with ootb post-processing, the s21u may look better, but if you actually try to manually plan out shots and take raws, it's debatable at best. i'm convinced most of the development in phone cameras are just down to how well they perform post-processing, not that the cameras are actually getting better
>>
>>107613222
>the development in phone cameras are just down to how well they perform post-processing

Samsung's flagships have a pro mode that lets you adjust exposure time (t. S23U owner), but yeah I've personally never been that impressed with the RAWs out of my S23U. I do have a vivo X90 Pro+ with a 1 inch main camera and the RAWs out of that look quite good. Fairly sharp, wide dynamic range, noise pattern that isn't too egregious, more accurate colors SOOC compared to Samsung. They look less like they came out of a phone camera and more like a decent p&s camera.

MPV on it's own is unusable since last time I checked it forces on screen controls onto you. At least not without going full tranny with a bunch of configs and shit. Using it with wrappers is pretty nice however. Haruna is probably the best media player I've used so far, other than maybe good old MPC.

Haven't used VLC properly in like 6 years but i remember switching because it was shit at handing some file types.

This is not a drill, it's finally confirmed that China has a working EUV prototype since early 2025, it's just undergoing testing and verification right now, expected to enter large scale production by 2028-2030.

>In a high-security Shenzhen laboratory, Chinese scientists have built what Washington has spent years trying to prevent: a prototype of a machine capable of producing the cutting-edge semiconductor chips that power artificial intelligence, smartphones and weapons central to Western military dominance, Reuters has learned. Completed in early 2025 and now undergoing testing, the prototype fills nearly an entire factory floor.

>The availability of parts from older ASML machines on secondary markets has allowed China to build a domestic prototype, with the government setting a goal of producing working chips on the prototype by 2028, according to the two people. But those close to the project say a more realistic target is 2030, which is still years earlier than the decade that analysts believed it would take China to match the West on chips.

>The breakthrough marks the culmination of a six-year government initiative to achieve semiconductor self-sufficiency, one of President Xi Jinping's highest priorities. While China's semiconductor goals have been public, the Shenzhen EUV project has been conducted in secret, according to the people.
