The real reason is that Intel gambled that their 7nm node could tolerate near 6Ghz without requiring suicide run-tier voltages. The launch of V-cache SKUs from AMD was too much for optics. Raptor Like had no chance of catching-up in silly gayming stuff.
Unfortunately, only a small number of Raptor Like chips could boost up to 6Ghz without requiring suicide-run tier voltages. The rest of chips broken down over time. Intel tried to downplay it because it would have open-up a massive can of worms. They did this before with Pentium III 1.13Ghz SKU back in the day.

which classic DE has the least bloat MATE,Trinity, Maxx,CDE ?
>>
>>107634384
CDE
>>
>>107634420
>>107634384
Although, I would use MATE anyway because it's a nicer desktop than the others even if its what you'd call "complete" (which is a good thing).
>>
>>107634428
yeah i think that's what i am going to choose, at first i thought about using kde and make it win 7 themed but looking at the steps and the amount shit i need to install to do that and the fact that kde is already very bloated according what i read, so yeah i think the classic look of 2000s linux and MATE is the best option for me Thanks anon

The wife wants me to buy her some cleaning technology to make her job a little easier. She asked for a battery vacuum that can take batteries for a quick suck before she mops.

I already own some Makita tools and Milkwakee so I have a bunch of spare batteries she can mooch from. What stick vacuumn technology should I get her so she can clean our house?

Do you do your own cleaning work on your 50 room mansion? You make it sound like plugging and unplugging a few times every 10-20 minutes would even register to any normal human.
Unless you're a fat american pig, in that case I can see how difficult it would be to bend your back 10cm forward to reach the plug without dying of cardiac arrest.

That's why HDR has a bad rep in general.
>>
>>107631423
Exactly. Double tone mapping in particular is a problem I've had to deal with a lot ever since Plasma introduced calibration, especially when running HDR games or applications with their own internal tone mapping.
HDR is truly gorgeous when the stars align and everything works, and luckily for me, it mostly does, but it can be jarring to most normal people if they had previously only ever had to deal with weird color balances and gamma settings.

>why is it STILL such a broken mess on windows
Skill issue HDR works perfectly fine on my 2 LG 4k monitors on Win 11
>>
>>107623000
>There's different standards of HDR for different quality levels, for different market segments.
there's two standards competing against the same market segment and use case, hdr10 and dolby vision
each one has a bunch of sub-variants for better quality, some of them (specially in the case of dolby vision) completely different and incompatible with the rest of their own ecosystem
>>
>>107630103
Worth it? Only for enthusiast home cinema. Imagine how a window looks when you clean it, after not cleaning it for years. Thats how HDR feels. For gaming it can be good, but it's annoying to set up.
HDR is cool but annoying.

matrix ruined /leftypol/ by moving discussion about how the site should be run from the board itself, where it had created a new, novel, almost democratic way of running a good imageboard (mods moderate, users give feedback in a dedicated thread so bad decisions are discussed and overturned) but then they made a matrix and a chunk of people just use that instead of the site itself + mods got to know individuals + decisions were taken based on the views of matrix users rather than the site as a whole.

Install Gentoo. Or whatever flavor of *nix is best for the job or most comfy for you. Jellyfin/Emby/Plex to replace Netflix, Nextcloud to replace Googlel, Ampache/Navidrome to replace Spotify, the list goes on. Look at the awesome self-hosted list and ask.

Through trial and error I discovered something most people probably wouldn't give a 2 fucks about: there's 2 SSIM measurements: YUV and RGB. Some people will mistakenly do something like compare the source PNG and output JPG resulting in an RGB SSIM measurement being converted to a YUV one, which is wrong. What you have to do instead is convert your lossy output back into lossless RGB so you can do a proper RGB SSIM calculation.

Which makes sense when you think about it because your screen isn't YUV, it's RGB so your JPG gets converted back into RGB in real life.

Anyway the first result is the JPG here:

*CORRECTION* this is the source PNG file, sorry about that /g/oys

Okay I found a suitable test file, plenty of tree bark to go around! My test setup is quite simple, save images at low JPG quality settings like 20% quality and then have a modern image codec compete in filesize against that. Otherwise there's no point in modern image codecs if they don't give you better quality for the same JPG filesize IMHO.

The only reason anyone'd still be using Adobeslop is because they pirated it and they're too lazy to uninstall it, or the worst case scenario they're milking cows
Fact of the matter is no Adobe platform is better than its open source opponents. None. Because Adobe is pure bloatware with tons of useless shit and missing tools which should be bare fucking minimum. Each temp file takes up dozens of GBs when in other programs they barely take one. And this is just me talking about the programs themselves, not the complete scam of a subscription service offered or Adobe's constant bad choices or AI shit forced onto users

Hi again, thanks again for the advice the other day i really appreciate it, i suppose im back to ask a couple more things, i guess when you want to start working on a big project

Ive decided im going to use Forge-neo, looks pretty much like a1111 but is up to date, was thinking about which model to use though and got stuck trying to pick, my main gripe is character consistency, i know making a Lora will defiantly be a good start but then i remembered the last time i made one the thing si had issues with were, lighting direction, Color gue (i.e the skin being a slightly different hue/contrast to the image before it) and Body Proportions, while i thin i can sort out body proportions with openpose (assuming forge-neo has it) im wondering if you had any idvice on what addons to use for the other two problmes, for example is there an addon which lets you dictate a limited color pallete for anime style and such and one for lighting direction possibly, and thanks again for all your help the other day
