Are decompilers actually useful for anything practical? Like yeah you can take a .exe and get source code out of it, and if you compiled it again you should in theory get the same program, but when you decompile something you end up with source code that is totally unreadable. It seems like it would be practically useless for most cases. Or is there some way to make it more human readable? This came out of wanting to look at the source code for that old fish tycoon game... pic related is a random piece of decompiled code.

>>106484164I'm using opensuse aswell! very comfy distro, i'm on tumbleweed.
I want to learn to be a computer magician with self-hosting things, making scripts, connecting my phone to a desktop, windows manager etc. The problem is that at the moment I can only dedicate an old laptop to try it out. Which distro should I choose? Mint? I also need the support for various language keyboards
>>106484260Not any time soon. Consider ceph or zfs if you actually need directory encryption.
>>106484362Bluefin or Aurora, depending on if you want GNOME or KDE.

Hi /g/! I'm from /o/. I need a stereo for my new shitbox (picrel). It would be nice to get one that can run Android so that I can leave my phone at home. Can anyone suggest one?Ideally, I want one that I can install an open source firmware on, but I don't see any stereos listed on LineageOS's device compatibility list (maybe there's another distro commonly used for radios?), and I would settle for mystery-meat OS as long as it doesn't require a Google account and I can install stuff from FDroid. I've had a look around AliExpress, but the ads don't have any specific information about the OS they're running. I don't want to buy something and then find that I have to make a Google account to use it. I also don't want to buy something and then find that I can't install OSMAnd on it.

once again, I am not including the links because none of that shit fucking matters. If you didn't hold a job before 2022, you are sinking and/or dead. There are talks of an AI bubble hiring hasn't gone across the board, and the outsourcing numbers are still increasing. Trump is beefing w/ Modi, so maybe H-1Bs could be on the chopping block soon who knowsI have never used 1337code to get a job in this industry. During my last job search of 2021-2022, I remember getting a timed 1337code style PHP interview.....I remember how anxious I was in getting these four questions right (which I did), only to never even speak to anyone at the company. I promised myself in the 2010s I would never learn React or do 1337code. I always knew 1337code was going to be a cancer, but pre-pandemic, it was limited to FAGMAN companies I could ignore...but with the supply of new grads post-2017, who "drank the kool-aid" and didn't get to experience post-great recession tech culture (buttcoins on /g/, Steve Jobs still being alive, being in your early 20s and actually being friends with your co-workers while building shit and getting rich), the cancer culture of 1337code would permeate the industry because college kids are cucksOld Thread >>106466467WFH Sex Havers #1 >>106385360

How and where do you actually search for IT jobs? Where do you even start..
Should I get GPD MicroPC 2 or GPD WIN mini 2025 or Pinephone with a keyboard? WIN mini is 800 EUR, MicroPC 2 is 600 EUR with N300 CPU but 3 times worse performance. Pinephone has raspberry pi 3 performance and is 350 EUR on the Pine64 EU store but only 240 EUR on the global store and the key board for it is 90 EUR on EU store but I can't find it on the global store.
>>106484060People realized that typing on them wasn't any better than a phone, so if you're going to spend any time on a tiny ass keyboard why bother. If you want to really type things you use a real keyboard.
>>106484060Nobody cared about them at all, then maidposters started using them heavily and reactionaries got upset about it.
>>106484113We had GPD Win threads back in 2016 before any UMPC maidposting happened. 15 years ago we had threads about Sony Vaios, etc.
>>106484047Ok I will get WIN mini
>>106484203I'm not saying they were never discussed before maidposting took off, but those discussions were usually one person asking about them, and then 2 or 3 people leaving a half dozen posts about how such machines are useless. Maidposters were the first people to treat them as something other than a novelty and start daily driving them. Prior to that, the general consensus was that they're e-waste that will collect dust on a shelf.

>>106484188There is no class conflict in America. The conflict is between high IQ and low IQ people and always has been.
whenever burgers set up big industrial sites they tend to poison people for as long as they can until they lose a couple billion in court like 10 years lateri see no reason why it would be different this time
