i'm pretty fucking sure you can't eq 15$ koss so that they have sub-bass, unless you get into distortion/clipping territory, they are like the most open open-backs you can get, no seal whatsoever, getting sub-bass is physically impossible under such circumstance.

Are you too POOR to devote an entire gigabyte per music album? Do you think .flac is gay and retarded?
I agree, so I made a bash script that recursively ACKS FLACS in a given folder using ffmpeg.

Hearing the difference now isn't the reason to encode to FLAC. FLAC uses lossless compression, while MP3 is 'lossy'. What this means is that for each year the MP3 sits on your hard drive, it will lose roughly 12kbps, assuming you have SATA - it's about 15kbps on IDE, but only 7kbps on SCSI, due to rotational velocidensity. You don't want to know how much worse it is on CD-ROM or other optical media.

I started collecting MP3s in about 2001, and if I try to play any of the tracks I downloaded back then, even the stuff I grabbed at 320kbps, they just sound like crap. The bass is terrible, the midrange…well don’t get me started. Some of those albums have degraded down to 32 or even 16kbps. FLAC rips from the same period still sound great, even if they weren’t stored correctly, in a cool, dry place. Seriously, stick to FLAC, you may not be able to hear the difference now, but in a year or two, you’ll be glad you did.
>>
>>106516487
Flac encoding is so fast it makes no real difference compared to just dumping the disc raw. No value in not using flac, unless you're even poorer and your cpu can't handle shit.

I get sad everytime I see this poster

Junior roles down 23%.
Senior roles up 14%.

Harvard tracked 285,000 firms. The math is brutal:

Before AI: 1 senior + 3 juniors = 4 person team
After AI: 1 senior + Claude = same output

We're creating a generation of experts with no apprentices. Masters with no students. Mentors with no one to mentor.

Who trains the next generation when AI does all the junior work?

But here's what made my stomach drop:

It's not layoffs.

And that insane level of demand will be filled with millions of Indians. Western countries don't want anyone other than the top 0.001% to have income.
>>
>>106515090
>are they actually good rulers?
I have already answered that question: "They are out of their fucking minds, but they still manage to point out how the West is insane itself."
They aren't good rulers, but they realize where our rulers are fucking up. It's clear as day, which makes it so fucking irritating, that the rulers of the West keep alienating their people day after day.

>Liberal democracy
Are we that? I have been getting the impression, that the established party's politicians think, that "Our democracy is in danger" when the people start voting for someone else, because "our democrats" have been betraying them.
Also, I'd interpret "liberal" as in "tolerant towards other political views", but especially the people calling themselves "liberals" these days would prefer to eliminate anyone thinking different.

>China will become the #1 superpower of the 21st century
I'm not too sure about that, but it's true the West has completely lost its edge, because it demands equal results irrespective of effort and natural ability and calls anything else "discrimination".
Well, guess what will happen to the West, if it doesn't start discriminating in favor of sheer capability and effort: It is going to die miserably in a swamp of utter sub-mediocrity.
>>
>>106511562
I don't think there will be mainly because that would be a difficult problem to measure.
If we could measure fuckedness the west wouldn't be paying for Jeet code.

Even Iceland, a literal frozen island in the North Atlantic and the true last bastion of whiteness is a feminist shithole that wants brown/black migrants for "muh anti-racism". There is no where to fucking go for whites!

>After almost five decades on air, the future of satellite TV remains uncertain beyond 2029 with broadcasters reluctant to commit to the platform for longer.

A decision needs to be made within the next two years if satellite TV services from Sky and/or Freesat will continue. That’s because the current fleet of satellites are reaching their end of life dates and any replacement satellite needs to be commissioned at least three years in advance.

There are more considerations beyond the cost of the satellite.
You require people to operate the satellite, those are recurring costs over the lifetime of the satellite along with any administrative costs that stem from having those people employed.
Bandwidth in general has gotten cheaper over time. At some point there may be an intersection where the cost to operate and the amortized cost of the satellite itself intersect with the cost of just buying bandwidth from an internet sat provider and running an internet service.

It's possible that intersection may be closer than you'd think as internet satellite providers in general are struggling with consumers and other end users. They might welcome the pivot to other businesses using them as a dumb pipe to carry their video services.

What's stopping hypothetical Don'tGiveAFuckistan with it's own resources an space program that isn't self isolated an heavily sanctioned like North Korea economically from beaming said content down with or without the rights holders permission anyway? Is Warner Bros gonna start shooting anti satellite missiles out in space as retaliation?

Probably. Also countries that are out of reach for the western authorities tend to not have space programs. Except Russia i guess. I'm actually surprised they aren't flooding Europe with free sports and propaganda mixed in

>Frederic Raphael, who co-wrote the Eyes Wide Shut screenplay with Kubrick, claimed that the filmmaker once allegedly remarked that A.H. [Adolf Hitler] had been "right about almost everything". Raphael, initially unsure how to respond, ultimately decided it was "an unassuming jest". Kubrick's relationship to his own ethnicity allegedly deeply troubled Raphael, a fellow Jew. Raphael was equally puzzled by Kubrick's critique of Schindler's List. After Raphael mentioned Schindler’s List during a discussion about films about the Holocaust, Kubrick apparently replied: “Think that was about the Holocaust? That was about success, wasn't it? The Holocaust is about six million people who get killed. 'Schindler's List’ was about six hundred people who don't." Kubrick's friend Steven Spielberg, the director of the film, disbelievingly responded that he "didn't recognize the voice of Stanley" in Raphael's interviews. Christiane Kubrick, Kubrick's wife of more than four decades, has also stated that Frederic Raphael's memoir "Eyes Wide Open", where these allegations were made, is an unreliable biography of Kubrick.

Nothing, but booting from a USB is a lot easier than disassembling a laptop. Also doesn't leave behind any traces
