I'm tired of two-factor authentication being shoved into everything now, it's ridiculous. Why should I have to use my email to activate an account for a service that has nothing online, or at least shouldn't, and won't be using any of my personal information? Why should I use 2FA at all?
It's clear they're just harvesting extra information to sell, since that's all everything does online. I tried looking up more information for evidence on this though, because whenever I bring this up I get almost exclusively redditors with their BUT POOFACTOR AUTHENTICATION IS GOOD FOR YOU YUM YUM YUM PBBBBT I LOVE POOPIE fucking idiots, fucking low IQ vermin. I would pray for the whole downfall of Earth just so that those wall-eyed sycophant cretins would die out but I know they're too moronic to even understand true misery and would likely be ignorant of it even happening. God I wish visiting Reddit gave you aggressive anal cancer. Please lord, Please Jesus Christ. I have never asked anything of you but this.

Please fellow journeymen of /g/, pray as hard as possible with me for this to happen to them.

Anyway, it's clear to me that shit like this will continue to trifle with the quality of the internet because of them eating it all up. You soon won't be able to get online without fully confirming your identity and signing off DNA rights to GayBlackLovers Corp.
>>
>>106518625
I ain't reading all that shit OP. But count yourself lucky for email 2FA. Theres a few online services I'm not even allowed to use because I don't have a cell phone to use for 2FA.
>>
>>106518713
why dont you have a phone?
>>
>>106518713
You don't need a phone for TOTP, desktop password managers like KeePassXC can generate the 6-digit 2FA codes for you.

It wasn't removed. It is 32-bit CUDA that were never written for Blackwell family because Nviida wants its professional crowd up upgrade and move from 32-bit platforms. It is too bad older implementations of PhysX depends on this and got impacted. There's nothing stopping Nviida or another party to create a translation layer if there is enough fuss about it. In practice, nobody really gives a crap outside of rage-baiting.
All hardware vendors gradually abandon support for legacy platform and it is much more rapid if it doesn't involved enterprise customers a.k.a not silly gaymers.
>>
>>106511975
Nobody cares outside of rage-batting. It is entirely because Nvidia intentionally crippled their CPU-only PhyX implementation. Just to promote sales of their GPUs. Welcome to what the rest of people outside of Nvidia's ecosystem had to ensure.
>>
>>106509297
If you want perpetual support for what the hardware is actually capable of your best bet is unironically an AMD card on linux.
>>
>>106517295
The A in AMD stands for Abandonware, at least as far as radeon is concerned
>>
>>106512346
>There has never been a single game where running PhysX on the CPU was viable. NVIDIA went to great lengths to make CPU PhysX unusable in order to make AMD setups look bad, and to try and convince people to buy dedicated PhysX cards just for the feature.
you'd think they could at least now release a build of the cpu backend that doesn't deliberately use only 8087 instructions to keep performance to a minimum. only thing that would do is be an admission that it was made as slow as possible on purpose, but everyone who cares already knows this anyway

Where are their Apps, Websites, Operating Systems, Databases, Cloud Platforms, CDNs, AIs, or Social Medias?

Here's the result. I was a little surprised at how consistent the responses were; I was expecting truncated, garbage responses from some of the OR providers. I think not using free-tier means you might actually be getting what you pay for (except for GMICloud).
Given all models output about the same thing, the only difference is speed and cost. DeepInfra is cheapest. NovitaAI is fastest of the cheap models (notably so.)
GMICloud output did not look right; I tested it twice, response time varied a lot and responses did not look like V3-0324 I was testing.
No refusals, using same prompt and minimal JB I used w/ V3-0324 prior. Scene was pretty vanilla but would have been enough to trigger a stock OIA or Anthropic model.
I did about 10 rounds of 4 responses for testing. The whole test cost $0.015.
DeepInfra surprised me, b/c they insta-dumped my direct paid account the first time I hit it with a ST prompt. Like, immediately. But for OR I guess it's all cool.
Others can take it from here. I still don't like using OR and will keep trucking with DS official API on V3.1. I guess its grown on me.

It just now occurred to me that people could use a special pipeline where they prompt in LLM, their waifu or sona or whatever responds, and then VibeVoice can "respond" to you in "their voice". A current side project of mine was trying to see if I could find two models in order to talk like specific fictional characters. I guess I should get back onto that now.

The idea of localized versions of a video depending on the location (and the language settings) of a user isn't bad, but it ought be the user deciding, if he wants that by default.

C is great as long as you are 90th percentile programmer. Most programmers are too retarded to code in C without memory vulnerabilities.

Go will replace C++/Java, not Rust. Rust is too hard and too long to learn for normies.
>>
>>106518711
>Rust is too hard and too long to learn for normies
agreed
how is it any different from other llvm frontends with the same syntax anyway?
>>
>>106518475
>Should have been the default.
yeah, it should have been, but it was made in a time when that assumption could not safely be made so it wasn't until c99

>That doesn't solve anything with build system mess
it solves a lot of it, actually. if you don't need metaprogramming, or external build tools to generate things the final compilation depends on, you can turn the entire project into a single compilation unit, which effectively eliminates the need for build tools like cmake or meson in the first place

>no, how is that simple?
because it also completely eliminates external c build tools as a dependency leaving the only real dependency as the C compiler you need to compiler the code in the first place?

>the biggest pain is trying to use projects that are designed for different build systems as dependencies.
the problem isn't just build systems, it is external dependencies in general. that's really the fault of the developer introducing the complexity of managing additional dependencies and then offloading that complexity on to the end user, but that's a general problem, not just a C one.
>>
>>106518711
>Go will replace C++/Java
lol, Go will replace C++ how? OSDev and bare metal applications won't touch it and gamedev is practically nonexistent. This is pretty much due to how Go's FFI support is terrible.
Java? Maybe. Go could take over Java's share of server applications, but I doubt it will ever take over GUI and Android app development.
>Rust is too hard and too long to learn for normies.
Eh, maybe, but most low-level C++ development is too hard for normies as well.
I could see Rust overtaking C++ in a decade or two (it is already garnering interest at major companies), just because of the tooling (yeah, the memory safety is neat, but who cares when you can wrap everything in shared pointers lol).

>>
>>106518038
Windows 98 is a program running on top of a 16 bit operating system from 1980. Good luck.
>>
>>106518248
Windows 98 runs on top of DOS about as much as Linux does if you've launched it using LOADLIN.COM. It only uses DOS as a bootloader stage, and only keeps any traces of it in RAM if you're using any 16 bit drivers loaded via CONFIG.SYS.

It has larger problems though, mainly to make it light enough to run acceptably on the minimum requirement 486. It does use a protected mode kernel and a separate address space for each process. But it maps all of kernel memory into each address space. Doing that is pretty common, but Win9x maps it as writable, which speeds things up because some kernel code can be run directly without a syscall and context switch. That also makes it so any program can read and overwrite whatever kernel data structures it wants though.

Worse, it maps kernel data structures at address zero. I'm sure this mildly optimizes some code somewhere because it doesn't have to load a base address. But it also means that if your program reads from a null pointer -- one of the most common bugs -- you never see an exception, it just successfully reads junk from the kernel and uses it. And if you write to a null pointer, you silently corrupt kernel memory. Then you probably later get an illegal action error box and your program gets killed when it accesses invalid addresses, but by then you've probably overwritten some stuff in the kernel. That's why the text in the illegal action box always suggests you save work and reboot rather than assuming the OS has caught, contained and killed the rogue program like in any other modern OS.
