i'm facing a dilemma.
Should I buy the HP Omen Max 16 with an AMD AI 9 HX 375 (RTX 5080 version) or build a PC with a 9950x3d and a 9070 XT?

what would /g/ advise me?

meme processor. jack of all trades but master of none. if gaming is your priority get a 9800X3D but if core applicaiton performance is your priority get the 9950X.
the core scheduling for the X3D series is still a mess unless you manually force one or the other

I hate devops. Do regular coding jobs still exist or did AI btfo them all?
>>
>>107002458
Unironic great time to be a dev since there's heaps of vibe coded shit to clean up lol
>>
>>107002458
If you're a junior dev and you live in a first world country, you're pretty fucked. Big companies are offshoring, smaller ones are trying to replace through vibe coding.

If you're a junior dev in a third world country, it's still a pretty good time, as a lot of the megacorps are still expanding there.

If you're a senior dev/architect/in tech leadership in a first world country it's a mixed bag - the roles are there, but expansion is limited.

If you're senior in a third world country and haven't managed to use that as a ticket to move to a first world country, WTF are you doing?
>>
>>107002731
There's still plenty of opportunities for junior devs in first world countries. They just can't be picky about working on something hip or cool. Look into embedded work or automotive or something.

recently installed debian 13 with KDE on my computer and after some tinkering I managed to sucessfully install nvidia drivers. I usually use brave as my default browser, but I struggle to get it to work properly. It seems that wayland and Brave really does not want to work with hardware acceleration. Is there anyone that has solved this? Do I have to use Xorg, or Xwayland Brave? Or should I just switch browser? Idealy I want to use Brave with Wayland

I'm using 4chanxt and I know that pressing 5 filters the md5 of an image, but it goes top of the thread and trickles down. is there a way to filter an image in a post somewhere midway the thread? maybe by hovering the mouse over it?
(I just want to filter a specific image without going through the dropdown menu every time, it's specifically tedious for a thread with multiple images)

Is there a free program to translate PDF files for Windows or Android phones? My father got a pretty large and complicated instruction manual for a thing, but not in our language.

Alternatively, a good and cheap paid program on Play Store would be fine, too, as long I get to move the translated PDF and/or print it.

Why not use Go? It's simple, performant, and more secure because of less dependencies (std lib is great).

her team is mostly pythonistas. go isn't python.

p.s. go standard library isn't that great. basic Errgroup.WithContext() is not part of the standard library.

I want to make something like a timeline you can navigate, scroll to the end, scroll to the start, zoom in, zoom out, in a similar way that video editing software does to the video timeline.

Does anyone have any resources or examples to share on how to build something like this?

My initial thought is to work on it on html/css/js but any ui like that in whatever language would work for inspiration.

My cousin is going to send me a 2060 that she never opened. I have a 5700G and run Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTS. What sort of problems or benefits can I expect? Is the OS going to detect the card and recommend drivers, or am I going to have to go get some manually? Are apt drivers fine, or should I look on the manufacturer site? I know about modprobed and (i think?) it doesn't work with kernel-compiled features, a monolithic kernel without initrd is detrimental to minimalism. Are there really no tools to automate creating configs from scratch? In 34 years of kernel development by millions of people, no one has ever made such a tool?

fdr was a pawn
your country is run by a cabal of industrialists
the strategy was:
instead of having to control all the countries of the world, piecemeal
you control the two biggest ones
make em antagonize
and the rest will align to either of them

thing is- no jet engine in 1945-1955 = no way to protect against nuke delivery

Looks like multiple concepts for Chroma loras work after all. Just need to crank up early training lr without frying the whole thing. I think Chroma/flux are super sensitive to gradients that pull into opposite directions so you need to let them reserve their space during early training. Otherwise it will just overwrite everything and you'll get generalized mess with combined concepts.
>>
>>107003203
>can you train qwen loras with 16gb?
yes

>does it take 12 hours per lora?
depends on how you train it

I don't know if lora quality has anything to do with block swap

Women's fashion never had to make sense. And younger women wear more close fitting clothes than older women, the difference is even more pronounced with wealth. I work in a capital in the business centre. One metro stop to the west and a lot of women wear spandex active wear. And one metro stop to the east it is all loose fit and no spandex, and the metro station is full of ads for diabetes equipment.
At least she was not full of tattoos and piercings, and was able to write adequately.

I don't get why women, especially black women, do this meta thing where they talk about their job from this astral projection point of view instead of just talking about their job. contrary to what retarded women believe, I really do not care that they are a woman so long as the person with whom I'm speaking with, man, woman, or tranny, has useful information. contrary to what they believe, I don't care what the fuck they are as long as they don't waste my time.
