Gake and fay.
Obviously everybody knows that Earth is a disc held by four elephants standing on top of the world turtle. The world occasionally becomes unbalanced due to one of the elephant dying from old age. It's time of various catastrophes, wars and changes happening all over the world and it ends when the new elephant appears from the great beyond.

From https://www.techdirt.com/2026/04/03/senators-ask-tulsi-gabbard-to-tell-americans-that-vpn-use-might-subject-them-to-domestic-surveillance/

>Senators Ask Tulsi Gabbard To Tell Americans That VPN Use Might Subject Them To Domestic Surveillance

>In a letter sent Thursday to Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, the lawmakers say that because VPNs obscure a user’s true location, and because intelligence agencies presume that communications of unknown origin are foreign, Americans may be inadvertently waiving the privacy protections they’re entitled to under the law.

>Several federal agencies, including the FBI, the National Security Agency, and the Federal Trade Commission, have recommended that consumers use VPNs to protect their privacy. But following that advice may inadvertently cost Americans the very protections they’re seeking.

>VPNs might protect you against garden-variety criminals, but the intentional commingling of origin/destination points by VPNs could turn purely domestic communications into “foreign” communications the NSA can legally intercept (and the FBI, somewhat less-legally can dip into at will).

>That’s the substance of the letter sent to Gabbard, in which the legislators ask the DNI to issue public guidance on VPN usage that makes it clear that doing so might subject users to (somewhat inadvertent) domestic surveillance

Who knows for how long they've been collecting your data "accidentally".

This year's Debian Project Leadership election has only ONE candidate and it's a Pajeeta (Sruthi Chandran):
>She is inactive on the mailing lists, and her Salsa profile is private so we can't even see what her coding contributions are.
>She's run for DPL 4 times before; lost each time
>Her entire platform is just about diversity and bitching about cis males
>She intends to formally incorporate Debian in the US, which would force Debian to introduce age verification
Her only claim to fame is organizing DebConf23, an event where a Debian developer literally fucking DIED because basic health & safety measures were not followed.

A much more qualified candidate was hospitalized during the nomination window and couldn't apply in time, yet she has refused to reopen nominations.

Debian is FUCKED unless the Debian developers all vote NOTA (None of the above).

i haven't watched anything on the subject yet, but it's likely, since she's been running for the position for the past few years. it's extremely sad, pathetic, and humiliating for her to insist on that this way. perhaps she knows that developers generally prefer having a leader rather than the chaos of a failed election (power vacuum).
if she loses to a nota, it will be hilarious, as it's unprecedented.

There aren't any small phones so none are made
>>
I got the S23 precisely because of this.
I couldn't tolerate the amount of phones going with 6.7 and such. I barely ever consume media on my phone. I play games that don't need a fuckhuge screen. If I really wanted to do things like read or browse on the go I'd get a small tablet. But this is what these phones practically are now.
Nowadays I considered getting one of those motorola razr ones with the flippity screen, but my dad went through 2 Galaxy Z Fold phones and and they both have these creases in the middle of the screen. I don't know that I can enjoy that much and it seems like a big gimmick to make up for the lack of small phones available. Which will net me a weaker phone if I want something for 600 bucks to replace my current S23. I have no replacement for this. What else is there? This is so fucking stupid.

For the average consumer: phones replaced computers
They might even side with you now but I wouldn't trust them not to bitch about it later if companies were to fall back to a smaller model.

I have the 10 inch sub so the main drivers are highpassed anyway. But in the end the sound I got was really good just took a little tweaking. I have never heard speakers that sound so clean, I didn't realize how much harmonic distortion and frequency imbalances affect the sound until I got them.

>>108526155
>They never sounded good to begin with
They sounded good if you had never heard anything else. I had some pretty entry level ones but they had these sort of bullet shaped main speakers instead of the rectangle ones so the main drivers were a little bigger, no tweeter, and a small sub. I'd never had a sub before, I'd only ever had really really beat up old second hand speakers from old stereo systems. Nothing ever tuned to really crank out sub frequencies, even if it was pretty limited compared to a proper sub. So for me that was great, hearing those double kick drums just pumping, drum n bass that actually vibrated desk, it was incredible. Of course when I finally got some good ones I realized they were absolute garbage, but you can't really get that effect with headphones or cheap bluetooth speakers so they were cool at the time.
>>
>>108530663
>I have the 10 inch sub so the main drivers are highpassed anyway
some form of highpass is pretty much always a good idea, with or without a sub
>>
>>108530916
You know they have that low shelf switch on the back right? I forget what it's called but you can bring the lows down by either -2 or -4 which is meant to compensate for them booming a bit much if they are near a wall.

unix has some serious issues (cf unix haters handbook) but the reality is the lack of rigor has its uses
yes it's fucking embarrassing that ps | grep is the only standard way to get any information out of the system but at the same time you can easily write shell scripts that work in 95% of cases
windows has a standard that doesn't break down if your process names include spaces, but nobody writes the scripts. i know they've tried to improve this with powerscript.

as for my use of unix it's because i've been using it for 20 years more than anything else. i also believe i should know and be able to predict what my computer does, and windows does not offer me that. none of the niche oses seem capable of daily use. mac os does not offer me that anymore although it did in 2002 >>108529394

Our lavish lifestyles cost more due to inflation and that I turn demands higher wages which equals less jobs for western economies because we cost too much. Best get used to it.
