I have had a 16 incher from work for the past 5 years, went from the intel ones to the M Max ones etc. Honestly, they're big and pretty heavy, but unless you're some weak ass manlet or a girl or something, it's not a problem.

That said, I got a 14" for a personal mac. The screen is big enough for most of what I do and if I find I need a big screen that means I'm doing something that calls for a good keyboard + mouse as well so it's gonna be plugged into a big monitor anyway.

If you're gonna be plugging it like that in most of the time I see no reason for a 16 inch.

14 inch is much better to travel with, I wanted that option.

The 14" is definitely more popular. I prefer the 16" because that 2" really does make a big difference in room if you find yourself wanting to split the screen while working. For me that's almost always the case, between IDE, terminals, browser, API or DB tools, etc. There's always one thing that affects another or I want to copy/paste, etc. And if you just like having a big screen, well, there's just a decent difference there you might regret not getting.
I don't find the laptop cumbersome at all, but again, the 14" seems a lot more popular so I may be in the minority there.

i changed the tuning. i'm pretty treble sensitive but also sub-bass sensitive. i listen to a lot of subbassy music and if the decay is too slow to where bass starts to feel/sound like continuous pressure rather than separate notes in succession i get fatigued. after some time i might notice my tensor tympani flex and i'd have to take a break. if i tried to push through at the same volume it just became more and more unpleasant and i would even experience slight tinnitus for a day or two.

it sounds like its just a volume issue and i guess it is to some degree but it is actually a sub-bass character issue
