There are much more things going on with Windows 10 than you can comprehend.
Microsoft would probably like to keep giving updates to consumer versions of windows but OEM pressure is as such they are being forced to not

Do you honestly think for a second Microsoft who otherwise gave anyone and everyone who had windows 7 and 8 free keys for 10 are going to be the main beneficiaries of windows 10 being EoL? No, the main beneficiaries are the OEMs who get to sell new hardware.
Microsoft couldn't give a dick about licensing, that's why they host the script for you to pirate windows on github WHICH THEY FUCKING OWN.
OEMs however internally are probably looking to not stock as many windows machines because they really don't want to support hardware for literally 15 years as every Windows 7 machine is also a Windows 10 machine
OEMs have to make sure their systems can still work with the massive amounts of different versions of Windows 10 that has came out.
Windows 11 allows there to be a cuttoff so OEMs can stop supporting this hardware.

MS however is giving people an out with being able to install other versions of Windows 10 that are going to be supported for longer for those willing to get into the weeds. The IoT versions have always had extremely long support times, way longer than consumer.

yeah i want to know this too. i read their "documentation" (a 6 item stepper w/ 30s videos) and it told me basically what i already knew. at least the way i approach this (searching audio space for something that sounds good) probably won't map too good on "add trumpets here" and so on. could be good for surgical edits, but idk i've never had much luck with that.

Some people use the most recent version. The most recent version is currently C++23.

I daily drive one bc i saw people bitch about RSI & carpal tunnel so i got more conscious about ergonomics before I'm 25.

Picrel is all the mice I own, bought from local stores. Rightmost is my vertical mouse but at $35, it's not great. Scroll wheel started malfunctioning after a couple drops; plastic is starting to turn back into oil; my PC doesn't recognize one of the side buttons, but my mom's laptop does (me issue). Leftmost was bought last month as a potential replacement for the one on the right. At $15, it's terribly bulbous and I felt my hand cramping on its mushy buttons within the first hour of use. Avoid. The red travel mouse is better than both at $35, so when i need a scroll wheel i swap to it, but is too small for my hands.

Tldr invest in a good mouse and physically test it if you can.
t. I live in a shithole outside of the US, so shipping is longer than the Amazon return window and thrice the product cost.

I dunno, the one I got was some cheapo 20 dollar brand I'd never heard of. Maybe a good one would work better but I constantly found it tilting and throwing off my aim.

thats not a bannable offense

I work in healthcare and I guess music is my "passion" but I've recently begun learning C++ in the hopes of making some music-related projects. I think computers are cool and like learning about low-level stuff, but it's not my passion.

This the the third time I've ever tried to learn programming, and this time, at the age of 26, I feel like it's finally working. I feel much more confident learning things now than in high school. C++ also makes way more sense to me than Python and the resources are better.

All of this has me thinking: is programming not really that hard..? I know that's a stupid thing for a beginner to say, but coming from a health background I feel like it's far more logical and straightforward than most other crafts. Debugging, algorithms and optimization are genuine challenges, but I feel like I've been lied to about how impossible low-level programming is. Is that true?

I haven't touched on memory management or templates yet so please humble me if I'm simply not far in enough to make this judgement.

True, but it is the lesser evil.
At least it's "just C with extras," not something entirely different.
Having things in C is great, having them in C++ is fine.

>>
>>106832696
C++ isn't that absurd when learned piecemeal. Just learn the fundamentals and use a subset of features you care about. And this is as someone who opts to avoid it like the plague.
Also, some projects end up in an extremely complex state and make programming daunting, but they might've started as the most basic implementation imaginable. If you continually refine, refactor, optimize things they'll always end up looking crazy, but it scales naturally with your understanding. Just gotta keep reins on the project architecture so it doesn't become spaghetti
