THIS. Sony quality went downhill. I have a MDR-1AM2 since a long time, but during the first year the hinges cracked out of nowhere, no shock whatsoever. It looks like a messy pile of glue with electrical tape on top of it. The pads are torn, barely holding and smells like shit.
But I like its sound, it's bassy. I never took the time to ask for a better quality one that sounds like it, but I should buy a new one.
So if you got the money for a disposable headphone, sure go for it, it sounds nice, but build quality is shit.

pretty good. the hinges really are fucking pathetic, however. downgrade from XM3, better than XM5, XM6.
you did good, kid.
(the hinge costs like $2 to replace but it's obnoxious that headphones with this price tag need yearly repairs)

I liked 8.1 but 10 brings dark mode to explorer otherwise I might have used it still, 10 had major memory leak issues up until 2021 when it was patched somewhat, but yeah 11 offers nothing but cosmetic changes I don't care for and it has fewer useful features that have been cut, it's shit

Pulseaudio and PipeWire are both abstraction layers between software that wants to do audio and drivers that actually work with audio devices. Hierarchically it is similar to WASAPI or ASIO etc.
Normally, every sane distro has it in its repositories and you just hit a button in app store (or download a .deb or .rpm or whatever your distro uses) and it installs, but the underlying changes to the OS with or without pulseaudio are way more extensive than just adding some end user software or even a driver or service.

Also notable detail, he's using Garuda Linux - a literally who literally indian fork of Arch. On a laptop. I would not expect there to be sane defaults even in the repositories and preinstalled software.

My experience is that banks will structure loans so regular monthly payments exclusively pay down the interest part of the loan first, and only once that's covered in full will principal start getting touched at all. So, in many or maybe even most cases, there's not even a single cent of principal to worry about, and all the interest is of course forfeit. Then, if you're in one of the states not marked in blue, they'll sell the house for just enough that there's still a little bit left on the loan, and then go after the debtor for the few thousand bucks or whatever that's left over, just to try to squeeze a little bit more blood out of the stone. So long as the banks make sure to sell foreclosed homes to each other, like a yarmulked circlejerk, they'll all turn a huge profit at (You)r expense.
>>
>>106832157
Your experience is being a nigger apparently. I have no problem with any of that except they keep asking for bailouts when the loans default.

Why hasn't he released a version of SteamOS that runs on generic desktop PCs yet? He has the perfect opportunity right now to kill Windows once and for all, now that Microsoft is forcing people off Windows 10 and everyone is desperately looking for an alternative. SteamOS is the only Linux distro polished enough and easy enough to install that the average normie gamer can do it. He's missing a golden opportunity.

Implementing recursive (tail) calls such that they don't keep adding to the stack.
Eliminating and replacing them instead.
Without TCO you will quickly blow the stack if you use girthy recursive functions, and everyone you love will die in the explosion.

A function call in tail position (the last sub/expression that isn't part of a wider expression) can be rewritten to a jump, as the caller function will never return, e.g.
# g is in tail position in the body of f:
f(x) = g(x)

# f could be naively compiled to:
f:
call g
ret

# but f could be tail call optimized:
f:
jmp g

Why aren't Linux desktop computers more common in big box stores if they're cost effective?

>cost effective
Cost-effectiveness is a meme at a certain scale, because marketers and salesmen try every trick in the book to get the most out of your pocket while expending the least amount out of their own.
You can "escape" that by making informed decisions, where you pay your time as tax to escape getting a shitty product, because cost-effectiveness is also real at the same time, and the collective knowledge of the consumer and their demand form the actual value of the thing.

Sure, if a distro worked with a manufacturer, got computers built, put them in stores and was willing to undertake the support commitment.
It's not going to happen unless someone puts money into it.
>>
>>106827956
Because people buying computers in big box stores don't even know there's other things besides windows and maybe apple, hell, most of the world don't even know the concept of operating system to begin with, let alone the existence of several of them.

Linux users be like:
>I spent 5000 hours so that I could browse the web, listen to music, and work on code
WHY?
By the time you spend 5000 hours to do all this crap, which always ends up in the most generic setup:
>blank desktop with a launcher
You could have literally just turned on a Mac or a Windows PC and been working.
I'd really like a serious answer here because it seems to be totally fucking worthless to jump through all these hoops to get Linux running when windows does the exact same fucking tasks with no effort at all.
