Retard, even if OpenAI went out of business the existing models will still be there. Also most of the LLMs available to actual end users to self-host are from China.

If you're in the European Economic Area, Switzerland, or the United Kingdom, the terms under "How Google uses Your Data" in "Paid Services" apply to all Services, including Google AI Studio and unpaid quota in the Gemini API, even though they are offered free of charge.

It creates new combinations that might seem novel at first but once you generate enough of them you will see the same output. All generators have rather similar style when you not specify it (the AI slop look), and when you do specify it you are using the same artist names.
>I can just combine LORAs for infinity and fine tune them
I saw LORAs made on synthetic data and they fucking suck. I used CivitAI for 2 years before they paywalled smut so I know what I am talking about. Synthetic data can be useful for picking the right reasoning paths and making chatbots smarter like what every AI company has been doing for the past year, but when it comes to originality idk if you can prevent model collapse. The best current image model is nano banana, or some similar model and while those models are good they are in my experience only good at generating either hyper realistic photos, or editing images because they are multimodal LLMs that have “intelligence” unlike diffusion models which are retarded and can’t even differentiate up from down most of the time. However nano banana is terrible when it comes to generating original pictures that you want to look beautiful, because the more you edit a picture the more it will transform it over time into the basic ChatGPT style cartoon. Making even character designs more generic with each hallucination.

True. Future is either communism (UBI), extinction for the bottom 99.999% of society by wealth, or just full on extinction because some retard gave it goals that go beyond completing the prompt query.

>takes discipline to stay with XP,
As somebody still on XP, there really isn't much to it once you have gone through the pains of getting things up and running. Updating, patching, securing and tweaking can be tricky, and certain programs like say a browser, yt-dlp and tor must absolutely be replaced with modern third party XP-compatible builds that are often difficult to find, but other than that it's just common sense.

No manufacturer makes only good 5070Ti, all them have crap in their portfolio. It really depends on the particular model. Look for the power limit and the cooling solution.
MSI VANGUARD SOC is probably the best 5070Ti you can get but not cheap. Powerlimit: 117% max. Large vapor chamber, 8 heat pipes.

READ THE (temp)WIKI! & help by contributing:
https://igwiki.lyci.de/wiki/Home_server

/hsg/ is about learning and expanding your horizons. Know all about NAS? Learn virtualization. Spun up some VMs? Learn about networking by standing up a OPNsense/PFsense box and configuring some VLANs. There's always more to learn and chances to grow. Think you’re god-tier already? Setup OpenStack and report back.

>What software should I run?
Install Gentoo. Or whatever flavor of *nix is best for the job or most comfy for you. Jellyfin/Emby/Plex to replace Netflix, Nextcloud to replace Googlel, Ampache/Navidrome to replace Spotify, the list goes on. Look at the awesome self-hosted list and ask.

>Why should I have a home server?
De-botnet your life. Learn something new. Serving applications to yourself, your family, and your frens feels good. Put your tech skills to good use for yourself and those close to you. Store their data with proper availability redundancy and backups and serve it back to them with a /comfy/ easy to use interface.

Why do server people recommend not having too many files in a folder?
For example instead of having this path: /1/187651231.jpg
They say you should have: /1/87/65/187651231.jpg

I can't remember a reason, it can't be seeking if the disk is SSD right?
