gaming and music. I think I would prefer a closed back as my PC can be a little loud as well as my house. I would like wide compatibility across console and PC.
>previous headphones.
Hyper x cloud alpha. I like it, I've had for 7 years. The only gaymen headset that didn't break in under a year. But I was thinking about trying something new.

I was looking at MMX 150, FiiO FT1. Any other suggestions ?

fiio ft1 is by far the best closed back for the price you want and theres nothing even close. get a capra strap or whatever chinese comfort strap for it too because the only downside to the ft1 is the comfortability

Ah right, I feel stupid for not realizing.

I had a shitty cable set-up which would sometimes make my chair catch the cable and pull my headphones and drop them to the ground and I never could be bothered to fix it. They fell one too many times and ended up with both hinges getting broken to the point that taping correctly it's impossible. Yes I deserved that for not bothering with fixing it, I learned my lesson and I will treat next ones with proper respect.
I see I see.
I don't think I listen to music that loud, I have been using Porta Pro while commuting for almost 3 years and so far I never heard anyone complaining about the noise and I won't believe nobody could be bothered considering to what I usually listen

Thank you for your advice everyone!

the fiio ft1 is not really better than something cheaper like the k361/371, hd569, shure closed backs, or the hyperx cloud 3 s if wireless functionality is desired

Ah, this makes so much more sense now, thank you. Am I understanding it right that there are two profiles that need to be set, by the way, another one being for Guix home so that it can then find packages in the path after installing?
So ie I’d want both what you wrote there in bash_profile, but also another one like . “$HOME/.guix-home/profile/etc/profile”? I don’t know if this sounds dumb but this was not at all obvious to me from the documentation.

Ram shortage are here to stay until 2028

>>No AAA games with GTA-V-like textures, maximum is Deltarune graphics
Consumer GPUs/computers don't contribute much to this shortage compared to data centers.
You would not believe how many chips go into a data center.
And fuck, we have been on 8GB being the average VRAM for a decade.
>>
>>107547472

So when AI becomes smart enough to make infinite ram, it's just going to hand it over to us instead of using it to achieve god tier status?
>>
>>107544651

Dave Egglestone literally just estimated mid 2027 as a time where the RAM shortage should already have quieted down. There's literally like 3-5 factories coming online this and next year. Manufacturers work tightly together. A many year long whole in the supply chain would not be missed and not planned for as the order amount closely follows motherboard amount etc. Don't be another sheep.

What you should do is sell your current RAM, and then look into buying depreciated tangential parts. PSU's and motherboards for example have great pricing ATM. Towards the end of the RAMpocalypse, used market is going to be amazing. Clip this and see you in 2027.
>>
>>107557219
We wouldn't even make a dent in their earnings, but the companies that fucked us over most during this time should be boycotted purely out of principle, if they ever come crawling back to the consumer market.
>>
>>107557257

Mainstream gam3r media are so fucking dumb there is just no chance. 90 % buying nvidia is basically equivalent to bambu situation in 3d printing. Most people are not interested in **DYI** pc gaming. It's driven by teenagers and their FOMO and marketing.

Saving the hobby means saving the DYI part, which is going to mean moving away from gaming, because there is just too much baggage there. Which means homelabbing, open source advocacy, microcontroller space. Gaming has to be kept tangential, because gaming is not about empowerment and its audience too diluted. Gamers are essentially normies now, that just want stability and performance, which taints any other discussion.

sorry if this sounds dumb but im finally getting my lazy butt around to getting wan 2.2 and the premade workflow in this rentry: https://rentry.org/wan22ldgguide seems to only have a 5 second output and also it's at a lower framerate
in the 2.1 workflow i used from the older rentry, it had an 8 second output at 24fps
am i overlooking something or how do i get 8 second videos with 24 fps for 2.2? i dont really want to poke around on civitai because i remember dudes here posting some extremely cursed workflows that took hours for the equivalent of a schizophrenic ms paint scribble
>>
>>107557319
To get 8 seconds at 24fps with WAN 2.2 find the "Empty Latent Video" node and change frames from 121 to 193 and set any FPS settings to 24. 2.2 workflows default lower because it's more resource heavy than 2.1. You can run 8sec at 24fps fine, just takes longer and more VRAM.Make those changes and you're good. Reply if you can't find the nodes.

Both Linux and FreeBSD use the same OpenZFS implementation. The only difference is that FreeBSD can use it as a full boot environment by default.
>>
>>107557256
I know. But there's a difference between "implementation" in terms of how zfs manages storage and "implementation" as an integral component of the entire operating system. I'm using root-on-ZFS-on-Linux right now and have had to deal with kernel modules not loading, shoddy bootloader ZFS support, disappearing boot entries, initramfs failing to find/include relevant modules, etc etc. The kind of stuff that I don't see happening on FreeBSD or Solaris/illumos, since ZFS gets native treatment there.
>>
>>107557203
this is literally solved by package managers
such a non issue, distributing binaries is a worse way of doing things anyway. And if you do want to distribute binaries just compile static with musl, the linux ABI is stable

It is the most common thing amongst creative people. You are starting to build up something. Then that something becomes bigger. You can see it flourish. It feels good. It becomes part of your essence. A driving foce behind who you are. A mental growth factor, so to speak.
After a while, the why and the audience become irrelevant. All that matters is you and your creation, as it maturates and nurses your mental well-being.

But when you get to the more visual novel-like games is where it shines, but not just limited to the traditional types of VNs. Actually controlling and doing something elevates it above things you can't get in any other medium.

The best and brightest C programmers agree: Rust belongs in the Linux kernel!
https://lwn.net/Articles/1049831/
This board tries it's best to portray C and Rust as polar opposites, but in the end they serve the same purpose. Good C programmers have always respected Rust programmers and vice versa. Only the fizzbuzzers and jeets want a language war between C and Rust.

Why do they want it? Because if you split the systems language ecosystem, there will be less competition to their electron/react garbage (see Windows 11 start menu)
Everyone except Indians agrees that anything written in Rust or C is much better than electron garbage. That is why it is important to be friends and allies, not enemies
