Since you said iOT I'm going to assume it connects to every cloud imaginable and has terrible security even though it could work on a private LAN with no Internet at all but the manufacturer decided to tie it to some premium subscription you don't want or need so it can make your buttplug randomly tingle via a webhook.Devices like that are definitely compromised as fuck if they're not getting regular firmware updates. Look at the Android kernel for what everyone should be doing. You don't have to update it every week but it should be getting security patches as and when it's relevant.

>>107569376There's no benefit to having a third party repackage Firefox for you; trusting literal whos on GitHub to mess with your browser is a recipe for disaster, and they offer nothing you can't do yourself with a custom user.js or even your own compilation flags.
>>107569566I've read somewhere that librewolf completely removes telemetry from the source code and if you use firefox you can only disable it. Do you have any benefit from this? If not, can you give me a guide how to harden firefox and disable telemetry so I can delete librewolf?
>>107569661I use a slightly modified version of Zero user.js:https://pastebin.com/PRQyRv6xGo through each section and make any changes and/or removal of settings you don't want. Should only take about 10 to 15 minutes. Having used every Firefox fork, including LibreWolf, I will say that LibreWolf consistently gets about 35% lower performance than hardened Firefox (comparing on https://browserbench.org/Speedometer2.0/), so I would say the switch is definitely worth it.

Not question, just sharing my experience, I just used gemini to generate configs for programs, window tiling config, bash scripts and many such things. I can only say it's cool at spewing out cool themes(if you are doing ricing) and working configurations too are pretty neat. There is a low chance though that if you are telling it to manage some bash script, it may focus on the wrong errors if you have any the whole time. Also the configurations it generates are neat but they are not optimized for the use you perhaps except so the only conclusion I can come up with it is good in getting things starting up i.e. for generating boilerplates/templates and rest thing you have to solve by yourself. It is also helpful if you are running some random commands or scripts and want to know what it does, just copy paste to it. finally got my linux setup done after 2 days including gpu drivers and all stuff for my laptop.

>>107569151I already have a vendetta against libc and refuse to do anything in any language that doesn't give me full controll so I am stuck on the fence between C and C++, I am trying to give C a fair evaluation but I'm tired and can't cope with it, yet using C++ with several features missing just because they depend on libcslop is limiting my bias towards it.
>>107568107All of these “c replacement” languages fail to get why C became so ubiquitous in the first place: simplicity. Putting tons of features into a language is great at a higher level. The whole point of C is to be a portable assembly, which it does well at because of how cleanly its abstractions map to hardware. It’s a scalpel. I want my scalpel to be a scalpel, not a Swiss Army knife with a dildo attachment.

>>107568171I just don't see the benefit in negative lengths and indexes. Even in languages that wrap around like using -1, its just syntaxctic sugar that resolves to a real positive integer anyway. In regards to underflows I feel like the signedness isn't as much of a factor than code logic. If you write code that violates index bounds, it will violate index bounds regardless of the index data type.
