Anyone have suggestions on how to draw Imgui lines "into" the 3d scene _with_ proper depth information? I'm working with Vulkan and SDL3, multipass deferred pipeline.

My current plan is:
- composite the scene via deferred rendering pipeline, including depth info (already using depth info in compositing, but I didn't bother to write it out before, so this will cost an extra full-screen depth write)
- write my own routine to draw lines over the composited scene, with their own fragment shader blending them in by depth
- render imgui over it all as normal

This seems retardedly over-complicated for something you'd think is a common use case, right?

I'm not entirely sure what you're trying to do, but what I do is I just read the vertices ImGui shits out directly and then do my own thing with them. You could add depth information right into the vertices there, and then your shader that actually draws them can do whatever it wants with that information.

indian here. reliance (its a company) introduced loads of free internet with jio in october of 2016. up until march of 2017 everyone who had the SIM got unlimited 4G data. after that, to this date, the data is dirt cheap. other ISPs lowered their rates substantially so as to not go out of the competition. this led to telecom "wars" as everyone calls it here. my family has a regular internet connection since 1998. from dialups to MODEMs and what not. the old internet users in india are as troubled as the world by this huge influx of indians on the internet. iirc, r/jiowasamistake is a subreddit but i am not aware if its still up. its about the consequences of this internet "revolution". even today jio offers unlimited 5G data for a _very_ minimal price. many sites have been ruined but the most i regret losing is youtube. google is in the fault too but soulless channels are equally responsible. i dont blame this internet boom entirely. it has a few upsides too. kids who cannot afford decent education do study from the internet and they have actually gotten nice results. makes me happy seeing underprivileged kiddoz punching above their weight. holy textwall.

If I was to upgrade the 3900x it would have to be for something of that calibre or more. Really just struggling to find a use case in current year, I've gone back to playing Stalker Gamma in my free time because everything just sucks now.

This is a good question, best I've seen in what seems like ages. I've messed around with nmap to a good degree of success, to the point of saying that I even understand how the tool works. In short my advice is to read the nmap manual and try to understand how the scans work. I'll try to explain.

#-sn option specifies a ping scan

Probably because the ping binary on that system is lighter, or because WSL gets allocated more resources, or both. You could decisively answer this by using some mix and match logic.

Also you could try a different type of scan. Assume your permissions are low, you'd probably still want the -sT TCP connect scan rather than a ping scan. The portlist thing might be a good way to get more results, if you can figure out which ports you should be scanning.

Yes but that's like one host. A device pinging everything on the network is different. Although honestly, a ping discovery scan isn't considered a very serious threat. It's not technically an attack.
