My work assumed someone was stealing because a box of sandwiches went missing (most likely it never arrived on the truck but was labelled as having arrived since stealing an entire box isn't possible unless multiple employees were in on it). So my manager decided to install annoying as fuck cameras literally all over the back of the store. Now I can't feel at peace or even take a quick 5 minute sitdown without feeling like I'm being watched and will get written up. I'm trying to find ways to hack the cameras since I know it's pretty easy for most IP cams.

Anyone have any experience hacking 3xlogic Cameras or their Vigil client? I want to constantly be taking them down, even on my days off just to piss off management.

found a couple of old big HDDs in an old house my dad bought to transform it into an airbnb. They were inside a box along with a RX 6800XT. The old owner didn't reclaim it so my dad ended giving it to me to do whatever i want.
GPU seems to work and I only added new thermal paste and pads. However i dont know how to check if these old HDDs are in good condition

I work alone on overnights. I get everything I need to get done within only 5ish hours of my 8 hour shift. I'm essentially just a warm body to run the register when I have nothing else to do. I can only lock the store to use the restroom for up to 5 minutes and customers do complain if I use the restroom so they'll find out if I do that. I just want to be able to sit in the back and wait for people instead of standing at the register for no reason. They also get upset if I use my phone, even though there is literally nothing to do. I'd rather hack the cameras because fuck these niggers. This aint prison

Just recreate windows 7 but with all the new technological features and device support for current hardware, Directx, HDR and whatever shit so it all just werks and remove all the pointless bloatware and ai garbage.

We can dream...
>>
>>108514481
Gut all the AI slop features and code. Gut all telemetry. Hire older white programmers to write actual code to replace any required features. Focus on stability, security, and being as light weight as possible. The goal should be the OS should not get in the way of using programs.

What’s the purpose of valves steam-cube?
If you can handle installing Linux, you can also put together mini-ITX PCs.

steam shouldn't have a 30% fee considering it operates purely digitally and doesn't even run their own servers or content delivery networks
>>

>If you can handle installing Linux

Which normal people who aren't fucking loser nerds refuse to do because its a waste of fucking time.

Linux literally getting propped up by Valve, you should be sucking our cocks for even using your loser nerd OS that hasn't broken into the mainstream in 40 years.
>>
>>108521795
>it was just meant to be a tiny black box that sat by your PC

No, it was meant to be the PC that the lowest common denominator of Steam users would buy, so that hopefully they purchase more Steam games with it.

A lot of people were complaining the specs of the steam cube were garbage compared to their 5070 builds, that's not the point, you aren't the target market if you have an already decent PC.

This is for people who will play cs2, or dota 2 or whatever on Steam and MAYBE buy 1 or 2 games on summer/winter sales, they're going to already either have a 2nd prebuilt in the future, or build their own cheaply, well why not just get the steam box and play more games?

A lot of people are just upset they can't jump on the bandwagon, whatever, you aren't missing out on anything big, it's just a gaming PC at the end of the day, but with valve's own design.
>>
>>108521801
tell me about it, does anything on a PC even support HDMI CEC?

You're right anon. However you underestimate just how stupid the general population has become with something like installing an OS. What we're coming into is a generation that is somehow worse than boomers with tech. There are exceptions though.

I only started using it because I vaguely heard that other browsers were banning adblock. That was like 4 years ago and I don't think it's actually true but I'm too lazy to switch back to Edge. I remember Firefox always being the second biggest laughing stock after Internet Explorer back in the day, now I see why.

The 'privacy' features are pretty cool though, I'll give it that. Of course they don't actually do anything but they really sell the illusion that they are. I see why it's used as a base for the fed honeypot browser retards use to buy drugs and watch CP.

This year's Debian Project Leadership election has only ONE candidate and it's a Pajeeta (Sruthi Chandran):
>She is inactive on the mailing lists, and her Salsa profile is private so we can't even see what her coding contributions are.
>She's run for DPL 4 times before; lost each time
>Her entire platform is just about diversity and bitching about cis males
>She intends to formally incorporate Debian in the US, which would force Debian to introduce age verification
Her only claim to fame is organizing DebConf23, an event where a Debian developer literally fucking DIED because basic health & safety measures were not followed.

A much more qualified candidate was hospitalized during the nomination window and couldn't apply in time, yet she has refused to reopen nominations.

Debian is FUCKED unless the Debian developers all vote NOTA (None of the above).

>Aren't guinea pigs getting all the new stuff?
Depends. Some are more self respecting than others.
Despise being meme'd on, arch doesn't actually push unstable software into their main repos, you have to manually enable their staging repos (or whatever they call it). Those guinea pigs get their cake and eat it too.
Fedora is different. You get some unstable code being pushed while also not having the latest and greatest of everything. Worst of both words, plus they're owned by red hat.

Can't I offload compiling to beefy modern CPU over network these days? One of the biggest blessings with this old G4 is 1gbps LAN. If I can do that I'd be much less hesitant, a month of compiling on a single ppc cpu to get a functional desktop environment is a bit brutal.
>>
>>108521345
Fedora is a point release distro. Only minor version updates get pushed after release, with some exceptions which I can't remember. v43 was released 4 or 5 months ago, a new version should be released soon.
For context, major version changes indicate breaking changes. All point release distros work like this, fedora just has a very short cycle (6 months).

I am learning so much shit about PCSX2.
Even its memory card operations are not accurate. It doesn't really care if you fail to send a read/write end command at the end of reads or writes, whereas a real PS2 will get into a wonky state.
PCSX2 will send default memory card stats back if you request it while no memory card is inserted, but with 0xFF in the first two bytes, but real PS2 will respond with all 0xFF bytes.
PCSX2 will erase 16 pages from the addressed page in the memory card. It seems on hardware some weird shit can occur if you don't align it.

lowest level of the operating system's user mode accessible API, how you delegate function calls between kernel mode and user mode
windows doesn't really call them in most documentation, it calls its syscalls the NT API, because they do things a bit different, especially with regards to access and interface stability as well as context switching since some of their system calls don't switch modes and are instead directly accessible, clones of the ones that do, meant for things like user mode drivers or NT API applications
