You spend all day looking for evil jew on the internet. You're on the same level as the anons who look at every image of a girl posted here and ask "could this possibly be a guy?" Sure, call out Jewish bad behavior, no problem. But you're wasting your days obsessing over it. Seriously, how much of your identity is wrapped up in hate?
>>
>>107737110
The difference in vibe around computers and technology up until around 2005 cannot be understated. Computer Chronicles and Net Cafe, another Cheifet show, aren't just nostalgia they represent a different culture.

>Seriously, how much of your identity is wrapped up in hate?
Hate is what made White people become the master of human races. Not hating your enemies means that they will infiltrate you and destroy you from the inside, just like it's currently happening in White nations.

I can attest it is bad. Got laid off last week. I knew the writing was on the wall and I got interviews with 3 companies but i never even get to take a technical portion because I pass the behavioral, but fail the second where I have to talk shop about whatever insanely niche framework or tool the company is neck deep in. I can't run around studying every single tiny framework. I grinded leetcode, I try to study everything i can about a company and inevitably there is some hidden tech stack gotcha.

I don't really have enough experience with scripting languages to really know, but it seems to me that the two kinds of allocation are either throwaway allocations that are used as an intermediate step to produce the real result, like allocating a dynamic array of words for a .split(' ') only to iterate them and throw the array away. The other case being that the allocation is the result that you're going to populate with data for later use. The real breakdown is that people use malloc for the first case instead of an arena, but if we can just use an arena for them and make the lifetime match the callstack, with some smarter behavior to allow allocating a local dynamic array "into" the caller's arena, that would save a copy and cleanly maintain the correct lifetime for that temporary array. For all the persistent allocations, the programmer can use arenas like Odin.
I wrote this, which applies here: >>107741636
>>
>>107741636
>>107741701
What if it changes though? Processors like memory reuse because it allows them to keep the same cache lines and page translations around. Being able to use the two interchangeably - maybe some left-over space over in the persistent pool - requires being explicit about it.
>>
>>107741747
I don't think most scripting language users think about that at all, and if you want to, you can use explicit allocation.

Updated the kerne and bios, still the same issue. I doubt updating Ubuntu will change anything, I'm using LTS. 2026 will NOT be the year of Linux desktop. Sorry GNU/Linux.

It will get fixed for everything that uses GSP. As in 1650 / 2000 series and up.

Mistake: since 2025-12-21, /usr/lib/cgi-bin/tab at the http link has been lying to me. At least I caught it now and not later. Lost days of important text, will maybe do somethings to fix it. If you write code or use CGI with Apache or nginx, making it say "wrote to file filename_2026_01_02.txt" is not a good idea. Instead, do a real check on the file by running:
>echo "Wrote $text to $filePath"
>echo
>echo -n "Proof: "
>stat -t "$filePath"

>>107741429
I would feel bad if https://desuarchive.org/ suddenly required everyone to have a login or have an authentication thing (like username+password with no email needed) to search or look at threads. If you're an archivist or someone like me, then you'd see that it's bad. Ranked:
- bad: webpages are authentication-walled
- not as bad: webpages are CF-walled (or that one trannime thing which says "checking if you're a bot", think it's called Annubis)
- even less bad: webpages are rate-limited

Public and open web pages with no compromise: do it if you can.

Qualcomm's most advanced ARM chips now rival the performance of the Apple M5. Why hasn't Qualcomm opted to open source the drivers, enabling the creation of robust ARM Linux laptops? Do they have deal with Microsoft?

so it was watercooled and given 400w. once it lands in an ultralight laptop it'll get maybe half of that performance. they pulled the same shit last release.

you don't understand. there needs to be a demand for ARM based computers. outside of fantasy land and the world of street shitting sex offenders from india using apple products: nobody cares to use them as a desktop or laptop. apple has a fast chip and very few people are actually using it compared to any version of x86. and then you have decades worth of software people need to use that's x86. nobody should be forced to use emulators or binary "translators".

are KOSS headphones any good? or are they influencer slop?

I have KPH30i. Relatively comfortable and punch way above their weight for sound quality.
Are they the best ever? No. But for the price to performance, I would absolutely get another set when my current ones break. They're excellent as a cheap and light thing you can drag around anywhere without worrying.
>>
>>107734191
They're actually good. I don't recall how they became the "TikTok headphones" but the Porta Pro have been around since the 80s and are classics.
The Koss KSC75 are better though, especially if you replace the ear clips with a headband for a few bucks. Slap some Yaxi or knockoff Yaxi pads and you're golden.
>>
>>107734191
They were good cheapies close to 20 years ago.
>>
>>107734191
I bought Koss Porta Pro headphones in the 1990s. My brother "borrowed" them and never returned them so I bought another pair in the late 2000s.

The cable on the new ones I bought was extremely thin and flimsy and broke after just a few months.

I took the pair my brother permanently loaned back when I was visiting him some years after that. Those have a much thicker more solid cable and they still work.

I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING ANYTHING PRODUCED BY KOSS IN THIS CENTURY.
>>
>>107734191
>KOSS
From my experiences they tend to be cold and sterile. KOSS makes headphones for recording studios, not for listening to music. (Of course YMMV)

Have you ever considered the possibility that some day normal consumer won't be able to afford a computer anymore?
With GPU and RAM price increases, this nightmare scenario seems likely.

Wireless Internet connections might also get so full of traffic that one day fast Internet will be a luxury as well.

1. Give people cheap tech so they get dependent on it.
2. When they're addicted, start ramping up the price + scarcity
3. Win

Me? I'm already learning ways to survive without technology. In a few years you might have to live without tech.

I don't buy the "have no time" argument. Anyone who has the time to scroll through tiktok on a daily basis can use that time to learn the basics of something like hosting one's own services instead. The reality is that this kind of thought will never enter most people's minds to begin with.
>>
I'm not going to "live" without anything. If there comes a point that my lifestyle is unsustainable because of the decisions of a bunch of old men in suits then I'm going to make sure I take down as many with me as I can before I die, and I'm sure I won't be the only one. >>
No it wouldn't. People have been trying that for decades, the performance is always awful.

I don't see any reason why performance should be worse than on a monolithic kernel other than the fact that they tend to receive less development and support.
