How do kde users manage their dotfiles? I find that a lot of kde config files keep not just configuration but also state, so they keep changing all the time, and may contain stuff I don't want to have on github. Similarly, sometimes the *current* defaults of a certain setting are stored there, when I don't want them to - if I've not changed the setting, I want the setting to be able to change with future changes to the defaults.

Right now I keep a few handcrafted kde dotfiles that I copy manually into the user's config dir, where kde can clobber them to its will. Managing this is a pain, however, so I'd love to know what other people do.

Do people use a script with kwriteconfig6? That'd be more like my windows settings script, which is somewhat manageable but hard to make sure I've not forgotten to record some setting I changed. Does home-manager help with this?

The best and brightest C programmers agree: Rust belongs in the Linux kernel!
https://lwn.net/Articles/1049831/
This board tries it's best to portray C and Rust as polar opposites, but in the end they serve the same purpose. Good C programmers have always respected Rust programmers and vice versa. Only the fizzbuzzers and jeets want a language war between C and Rust.

Why do they want it? Because if you split the systems language ecosystem, there will be less competition to their electron/react garbage (see Windows 11 start menu)
Everyone except Indians agrees that anything written in Rust or C is much better than electron garbage. That is why it is important to be friends and allies, not enemies

It's a artificial because it's being manipulated.
Imagine a experiment of mice, white and brown mice, the goal is to find which type of mouse is more fit and what kind of strategies they employ.
You might try various environments where mice usually live, vary the conditions to simulate natural changes...
But if you start ting the legs together of the brown mice, that's a very artificial pressure. Or if you start introducing 10 new white mice every day from somewhere else and take the food the other mice have collected and give to them...

Hahhahah, good point! But nitpicking, unless all of Linux is being converted to Rust (I heard Ubuntu has some problems like this... sure glad I don't use Ubuntu though)

>glibc sucks
You take that back right now. glibc is immaculate. I used GNU tools even when I was still using Wangblow$. gcc is extremely powerful wizardry.

I noticed that every time I try to train something or run stable diffusion, my 1060 reaches a temperature around 95deg, and everything slows down. If I keep using it, it actually shuts off my laptop immediately.
Is this normal? I haven't opened or cleaned that laptop since I bought it in 2016, could doing some maintenance help?
Extra info: It takes about one to two minutes to go from 60-70 degrees to 95 degrees, so it heats up rather quickly. But it takes over 10 minutes to fall back under 80 degrees.
Maybe I should also set the fan speed manually to max?

openBSD is not like this. openBSD is about technical innovation in leanness and security. having a sane base system does wonders. openBSD authors do not have the TIME to care about muh xlibre muh wayland muh rust babababa politislop end user bullshit. it's really the best unixlike OS you could be using if you care about security, things working, not getting assraped by CVEs, and having a system that wasn't designed by retarded red hat know nothings.

But this is kinda funny because it represents windows then and now in a symbolic way. Windows was fresh and green. Now it's old, dry and at the end of life. Windows-lickers... it's so over
