Are bone-conductive headphones any good? Being able to listen to stuff while having full hearing sounds pretty appealing
>>107849009quick, stick your dick in it
>>107849029>>107849040Nta. I actually own a pair and both of the sound you hear is from the ear piece vibrating loud enough to hear the audio. Some of the DOES the conducted through your ear but most of it is just the out-out-ear earpiece vibrating. If you plump both of your ears while listening with them the sound quality gets noticably worse. Like a lot worse because it's muffled. Models like mine in pic rel (Shokz OpenRun Pro 2) have tiny speaker grills on them which lead to better sound quality so unless you're trying to swim with them just go for models like this. He's correct in saying the "bone conduction" marketing is kinda misleading >If you use ear plugs or just shove your fingers over your ears the volume and bass increase significantlyNo...they do not. The exact opposite happens. You do not get bone conduction earbuds for bass. That's the one area they're all very bad at, even ones like mine that have have tiny speakers along with vibration.
>>107848202Dumbass, its pretty obvious when people are wearing earbuds and are on the phone. Especially if the buds are white and ESPECIALLY if you have bone conduction earbuds that wrap around your head
>>107849257>earbuds that wrap around your headAhh yes. Natures way of identifying the douche bag. Mother Earth based like that.
>>107849029>you've never used any, why are you talking about them?I literally went to school and got a degree about this very subject lmao>if you use ear plugs or just shove your fingers over your ears the volume and bass increase significantlythis does not work. >>107849040I'm not that anon but he's asking what the point of using bone conduction headphones is if you're just gonna plug stuff into your ears anyway, which is a rather valid question. even if the 'plug your ears' method did work (it doesn't), why not just use traditional iems at that point?

>>107843234>Biggest issue right now is latency, streaming games have been tried before buy you cannot sell an additional 25-35ms of latency to die hard first person shooter gamers. Imagine clicking to shoot and being later than your contestant due to latency.I used one of those services and my latency was a constant ~7 ms. Managed to finish Cyberpunk 2077 without ever feeling any input lag.It really depends on how close you are to the servers.
Is shader code really that precious so we need all that shit? Can't developers (especially game developers) just distribute their shader in the form of source code that would be compiled for the end user GPU when he installs software/game?
>>107849578How is it different from any other kind of code? Not everyone wants to share the secret sauce for their game's graphical effects.
>>107849591Well, available source for games could cause direct damage for example in multiplayer games where cheat devs could use sources to design more sophisticated cheats or analyze client-server interaction code to find holes and attack game server directly. But what damage could graphical effects code cause? And a lot of games have most of their game logic in scripting language formats that are human-readable where binary game engine only implements some low level operations that don't have much of a value most of the times.

Elon says his plan is to have humanity exploring space and meet alien civilizationsis this technologically achievable?
There are 10,000,000,000,000,000,000 planets inside the habitable zone in the observable universe. This is based on the milky way having 500,000,000 planets in the habitable zone and the observable universe having 200,000,000,000 galaxiesIt would be a truly absurd statistical anomaly for the conditions of life to only exists on earth and not any other of those 10,000,000,000,000,000,000 planets with the right temperature for liquid water. With the current state of the PC market I’m thinking of buying Apple, I know the M4 is powerful but how is MacOS? I heard Tahoe is shite but haven’t looked too deep into it.
>>107848986It's pushing 5 years. What did you expect?
>>107849481>(Also I'm a dumbass I didn't need to math it, I thought the 2021 was the DATE, not the cycle count).*I'm a bigger dumbass because I mixed up the cycle count with hours. Also I am too tired to realize if these numbers make any sense.Someone else can probably correct me at what it means.Because my brain says to just multiply by 8 because cycle = 8 hours, so you spent 11 hours, but that must be wrong...Someone correct me.
>>107849507OH 2020 was 6 years ago, I was using 4 years because I remember the m1 came out at the second half of the year or something. And a heavy workload like video editing will reduce the charge to 2 hours or something. So the usage is very normal (like 4 hours a day~), but... the cycle shouldn't be affected while being charged...
>>107814412If you move to it from linux then it's similar levels of suck, slightly worse in some ways, slightly better in others. If you move from windows it's a big downgrade.I've had 2 attempts in my life to use that shit and ended up selling my macs, the last one was 2 years ago. There's many issues to talk about, but some I remember as really annoying are:1. Full screen doesn't exist, when you fullscreen something it creates another virtual desktop and moves the app to it. This is beyond dumb, and slow as hell when you want to alt tab constantly between something that is fullscreened and something that isn't because you are moving virtual desktops.2. The file manager is worthless, it can't even align files on its own, if you right click inbetween 4 files to create a folder then it will literally create it there overlapping them, you can rearrange it later with an option, but it's so stupid. it has other problems as well that you can only understand after experiencing the shit yourself.3. It does bs color grading, when you play a video with mpv it will look off, downloading color profiles that supposedly match the macos one don't truly fix the issue either, the colors will be off, I was only able to fix this by buying one of those garbage macos only video players that are missing most functionality you need. This doesn't even happen with youtube videos so idk wtf is going on with that OS.4. Many small problems, interface designed for mobile users, it will be hard to find or disable so much dumb shit like mouse acceleration, it's a similar experience with linux and its garbage defaults.5. If you think you can just emulate windows games then give up on the idea, it's more miss than hit, don't bet on anything working decently.Overall if you don't do video or music editting I see no point to this OS.
>>107849481Also I'm wrong about the 300 cycle part.apple's batteries keeps 80% charge at 1000 cycles. So that matches up with your battery health perfectly.(assuming that the health % is accurate, and not a number that is calculated purely from the cycle count, 80% of 80% is 64% so technically your battery is slightly better than expected?).
This simple idea of having 2 USB-C ports CANNOT be done because it stops the zoomer from buying wireless ear buds(battery inside will always go to shit and unusable in ~3 years)and you would be stuck using extremely affordable, high quality audio headphones or in ear buds(that are a bit too green for the planet in 2026) also the 3.5mm headphone jack looks like a penis that goes inside a hole and basically why aren't you a wireless, constantly charging gay trans in 2026 right now.am i finally getting it /g?
>>107841456>I'm physically attracted to unnecessarily overengineered hardware.Look up the tray loading mechanism of high end laserdisc players that can do both A/B side reverse and have a separate CD tray.
