Technological progress stopped in 2023. No new information is created anymore. People's brains get athropied by AI, and AI can do only so much by eating its own slop.

Irrelevant finding because no one does this. Models continue to get smarter since that article was published a year and a half ago despite using synthetic data.

>This is amazing work.
thanks!
>The async thumbnail download makes it feel better. I'll have to see how you did that.
The downloads run in a new thread.
Emacs' threading seems to be quite buggy though, I've had it crash on me several times with warning messages about mutex this, mutex that.
I will (eventually) have it use wget and only fall back on Emacs-native downloads when wget is unavailable.
>>
>>107850174
>Emacs' threading seems to be quite buggy though,
I've been meaning to play around with Emacs threads more. I feel like they're severely underutilized. M-x list-threads is too empty most of the time.

>I've had it crash on me several times with warning messages about mutex this, mutex that.
How bad were the crashes? Was the crash isolated to just the thread, or was the crash bad enough that you had to restart emacs?
>>

About Xah Lee, I decided to finally watch some of his streams, and started with the old ones from around 6 years ago. They are not very interesting content wise but I was surprised by how reasonable, well spoken, and frankly kind of cute he was. Sharing random wiki articles he came across, talking passionately about niche subjects while showing his blog posts, and messing around in emacs. Very comfy. But since a couple years ago and especially now he seems very unpleasant in his streams, even though his life seems more comfortable? I wonder why his personality changed like that.
>>
>>107850200
>I feel like they're severely underutilized.
Well, them being so buggy certainly doesn't help. Then again, maybe I'm just doing something wrong. I might ask about this on the emacs mailing list.
>was the crash bad enough that you had to restart emacs?
Yes, emacs' UI completely stopped responding, including to C-g. I don't remember which signal I used to kill it, I'll make note of it next time it happens.

Why has no big brand succeeded in the e-ink tablet space?
Huawei and Lenovo tried and abandoned their products
Amazon has the Kindle Scribe series but it's Amazon
Boox has nice hardware and features but typical Chinese brand software longevity
Suprenote is meh
Remarkable is trying to be Apple too hard

Why do you need 24GB of VRAM? What will you do with it that 16GB can't? Most people don't need more than 12 and you NEET highschool dropout hobbyists can get by just fine with 8GB for your projects and old games.

There is no linshit DE that replicates Windows 7. Even if you somehow manage to get the theme pixel perfect (which you won't), as soon as you open the start menu you'll see the lack of MSPaint, lack of Notepad, lack of Snipping Tool and Calculator, lack of Windows Explorer, lack of Control Panel, etc.

If you structure your "expenses" well enough and are good at bullshitting people, you can be a "serial entrepreneur" and burn other people's money for decades with virtually 0 consequences.
Hell, you might even get lucky and your scam might actually take off as a real business. It's a really no-lose situation (until zero-interest credit dries up).

You are literally making this shit up. The "brown people" who would think it's voodoo don't have Internet nor do they know it even exists. They live on like a dollar a month.

AI is extremely popular on the Internet browns like Indians, because it enables them to do what they do way more efficiently. That being scamming senile white boomers out of whatever wealth they have left so it doesn't go to their children. Not that the boomers would give it to their children anyway.

same size as my samsung aka. worst of both worlds
>too small for comfy video watching, gaming, reading manga
>too big to use onehanded at all times, finger can't reach top of the screen without "the shuffle" where it's easy to drop
never again, my next phone will either be 5.4 or 6.9 inches, so 6.9 inches because small phones aren't real
I know it might seem weird to only want each of the extremes, but think about it, a 6.1 inch phone sucks as being portable and sucks at being a huge-battery-media-device. At least with an Ultra or Pro Max tier phone I can have all day battery and can watch videos really bigly.

Didn't your mom tell you to not read in the dark? That's essentially what you are doing with dark theme. If you are going to unnaturally stare at screens from close distance, at least attempt to do it in an environment with natural level of lighting.

Some study found said that the lack of natural light exposure is one of the potential causes nearsightedness and eye diseases, could be related to the brightness (sun light is very bright), but also the lack of infrared frequencies in led lighting.

Likely the most optimal setup health-wise would be using a 65" tv at a distance, with light theme, in a well-lit room and add some infrared heat lamps to balance out the blue light.
