brief context, fag stole my old eizo displays and i can't go back to low-res square monitors, and 16:9 and 16:10 are satanic, so when i found that eizo made 1920x1920 displays i was over the moon. unfortunately, they're a bitch to find on the aftermarket, so in my desperation i've turned to aliexpress.

these seem to use a similar or identical panel to eizo's 1:1 displays and while the seller isn't *super* reputable, it doesn't seem like most stores outside of official brand outlets are on ali. plus, there's the dispute period, so i figure if i get fucked i can get a chargeback worked out.

all that said - have any of you ever bought monitors from ali? what's the consensus? are they dodgy, get-what-you-pay-for, decent, or something else?

Don't know about other industries, but at work we've been using """AI""" for all sort of traffic related stuff since 2021: optical text recognition for license plate reading, face recognition for driver identification, vehicle brand recognition, no-seatbelt-violation recognition, texting-while-driving-violation recognition.
I also had to translate quite a lot of documents ranging from technical specifications for the equipment to legal agreements and contracts between 3 different languages. DeepL and chatgpt (for double checking after DeepL) have been a great asset in making the task of translating 300 page documents take less than an hour.
