can we go back to using RAM as an SSD?

Why? Windows has a million dynamic RAM disk drivers/software, there's even one built into Windows but activated by default. Has been since like 30 years.

was that underground gamer? it was the only tracker that i actually made an effort to seed to my bros
>>
Now that all memory chips need to be offered as sacrifice to another model inference data center, does that mean hard drives are in vogue again?
I never got on the SSD meme bus because they were too small and too expensive and stuck with just waiting a little bit for programs to open.

never came out, they did another round of finetuning around july to update the dataset, hence 3.6, but not much else
Last thing they did was make it so you can train loras on their website, but their update blog is pretty much dead since july
What a fucking waste of money, they could have been the local sota for weebstuff, but they choose death instead

nai has a very limited/shitty sort of upscaling. even if i upscaled it locally, it would look very different due to the difference in models. so basically i've got no good way to upscale nai images. that’s the short answer

this is what it looks like if you use default 'upscaling' method that turns it from 1024x1024 to 4096x4096

original:
https://files.catbox.moe/xmdcu5.png
upscaled:
https://files.catbox.moe/kqg7ks.jpg

as you can see it looks the same except you can now zoom in to look at it all smeared, it's the shitty kind of gan upscaling you can do anywhere

this is what it looks like when you use 'enhance' upscale, it's the closest to how you'd usually upscale locally

If /adt/ survives, you deserve a fucking statue bro. Seriously, mad respect. This isn't the first time I've seen you sharing good tutorials while dealing with shitposters at the same time. You're carrying this general on your back man, genuinely appreciate what you do for the thread.

i am pretty sure that the anon you're thinking of is a different person. i share whatever i can whenever someone asks, but its not much and i wouldn't call them good tutorials. you probably were thinking of the anon who often shares his process and .psd files among other useful things including those that you'd call good tutorials, yeah hes cool, well he could benefit from staying a little cooler probably, but yea he always shared loras and other useful stuff too. all things considered, it's possible you and i are thinking of 4 totally different anons, but, yknow.

If you use the GNU Image Manipulation Program, there is something wrong with you mentally.

It is the only thing preventing me from using a Linux-based OS on a permanent basis. I need Photoshop to work and WINE is buggy as shit. The GIMP is a shit alternative.

Prove me wrong. Why would anyone deliberately use this garbage?

Download 140 free GIMP plugins here that I made. both free as in cost and free as in freedom to modify code, all GPL3 licensed.

github.com/LinuxBeaver/LinuxBeaver/releases

and if you want more grab the AI plugins that are separate download and the GMIC ones that Active Y made here.

https://gimpchat.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=22038

In total you have 250+ free additional GIMP plugins for GIMP 3.0.4 3.0.6. The vast majority work non-destructive. Freetard

Can anyone suggest a video editing guide?
>>
>>107706859
>Can you install and boot linux from a external USB SSD?
Yes, the question becomes do you want it UEFI or legacy BIOS bootable.
>Or would PCIe x1 3.0 be better even if its lower?
By PCIe do you mean a NVMe drive or what? And yes, anything that's not USB is better than USB.
Also remember you need a "rootwait" boot argument with USB as USB "isn't there" instantly.

I hate capitalism because instead of buisness owners being indepedent and self sustaining with their own software and digital tools they all depend on multi billion/trillion dollar tech companies like Google, Adobe and X. Even if this is a way to become filthy rich (for a few it is) its not freedom its economic slaverly. Not as bad as communism (where people starve) but its so fucking stupid how everyone is interdependent on big tech to succeed.

>The development comes a little over a year after the tech giant [Google] disclosed that its transition to Rust led to a decline in memory safety vulnerabilities from 223 in 2019 to less than 50 in 2024.

>The company pointed out that Rust code requires fewer revisions, necessitating about 20% fewer revisions than their C++ counterparts, and has contributed to a decreased rollback rate, thereby improving overall development throughput.

>We adopted Rust for its security and are seeing a 1000x reduction in memory safety vulnerability density compared to Android's C and C++ code. But the biggest surprise was Rust's impact on software delivery," Google's Jeff Vander Stoep said. "With Rust changes having a 4x lower rollback rate and spending 25% less time in code review, the safer path is now also the faster one

>With roughly 5 million lines of Rust in the Android platform and one potential memory safety vulnerability found (and fixed pre-release), our estimated vulnerability density for Rust is 0.2 vuln per 1 million lines (MLOC).

>Our historical data for C and C++ shows a density of closer to 1,000 memory safety vulnerabilities per MLOC. Our Rust code is currently tracking at a density orders of magnitude lower: a more than 1000x reduction.

After Canonical replacing well-understood commands with Rust replacements, there's no need to worry about about memory safety, since nothing works.

Is C still wortlh learning nowadays?

I'm studying CS but my uni's program only teaches you Python, Java and C++ so i figured I'd try to start learning C on my own over the winter break.

I already have a decent grasp on Python and Java and have always heard all the real enlightened big brain neProidians learn C to understand how a computer works beter since it's "close to the metal" unlike Python and Java but even starting out with Learn C the Hard Way, Zed Shaw says that C is a fundamentally flawed language and has many errors that later languages fixed into non-issues.

Should I keep going

>>
>>107706543
It's true that high bit rate 1080p is plenty for video. I have a 4K 32" monitor and 1080p BR rips look great. Good 4K video is better obviously but I'll take good 1080p over bitstarved 4K.
>all movies are 1080p on blu ray
This isn't really true. 4K Blu-Rays have been around for nearly 10 years now.
>why should not i buy 27 inch 1080p
Because at typical monitor viewing distances and assuming typical eyesight, you'll see chunky pixels and text will look like shit.
If you're using it as a small budget TV from a further distance then whatever.
