My best friend is unironically filtered by github. It's fucking hilarious. Every time he needs something and I link him to the releases page of a github repository he decides he doesn't want it anymore. This has happened at least 10 times. But seriously, I need a new phone quick, it's cheap. I can live with the drawbacks
- no 5G (4G coverage is plentiful and isn't going anywhere for the realistic lifetime of this phone)
- no 3.5mm (I rarely use it, while I use bluetooth day-to-day)
- chink UI (well I'm coming off stock Android (Nokia/HMD) which has been nothing but a buggy disaster. Plus the interface is getting worse, more clicks to accomplish the same tasks. I might as well give a different UI a chance. My mum has a Redmi and it has given her no problem in 3 years.
The pros seem like a nice bonus
- 7000mah battery
- IP64 (I use phone in kitchen and bathroom, it often gets some light splashes on it)
