I tried to install one of these Windows skins in 2011, and it completely fried my first computer. My uncle had to hardreset the whole hard drive ;_;

The "slop" IL finetunes have gotten very good for specific styles, WAI is a very good all rounder, but One Obsession or Hassaku are the new hotness or Neta Yume Lumina if you have the time and VRAM. It's a good time to be a degen.

there's also philosophies like Data Oriented Design and the relatively famous performance aware programming (by casey muratori), though of course these aren't necessarily unique to C

When does it makes sense to use SQLite or any other DB to manage the data of my CGI webapp? Currently I store most my data in memory-mapped files with a bit of locking logic where necessary, but I wonder if it's worth it to just migrate all data into a proper DB and significantly reduce the size of my program.
One point that might speak against using SQL is that my data is user-entered and unclean, so when matching different sources (tables), I have to do some string processing and error-tolerance (i.e. trim the strings, lowercase, which I think is hard to do in SQL? Do hybrid queries make sense, where I grab some data from one table, transform it in a general purpose language, and then do the second step of the query? Perhaps via building temporary tables?

Im about to install manjaro with xfce on a laptop mainly to use for renoise. Am i making the right choice or should i spend another few hours reviewing and reading up on a bunch of other distros? Is there anything in the aur thats advantageous or optimizes renoise btw? Thats the main reason i leaned toward manjaro cuz i read you get access to the arch repository which is supposed to have more cutting edge advantage but i have no idea if thatll improve renoise experience

Vibe coding is too risky to offload to serious projects, and on the non serious projects, is detrimental to your coding skills to not actually practice writing the code.

For some niche shit it's also invaluable. I've ran across things with shit documentation where AI was able to answer my questions that were nowhere in documentation. Of course you still gotta deal with hallucinations and go through everything it gives you.

i expect to have retirement money in a decade so it probably won't affect me either way (i'll keep working as long as it makes sense) but i only see this going 2 ways: one, somehow the tech improves to the point where only real big corps like ms and amazon still have dedicated programmers (think what happened to dbas) or two, there's too much shit code that needs to be fixed and the demand for actual programmers increases/better pay etc
>>
>>106751942
