So only maybe cloudflare and telecom would know who it likely is. Unless you use VPN purchased for crypto etc, but for me personally this is unreasonable. Then if someone pwns it, they have no clue who the fuck owns it.Government sees an exemplary citizen that definitely is not asking people on the dark web how to build explosives and such. At least they are not sure who that was, because that particular device only ever contained information about explosives and nothing personal at all. So they would have to check first. You would literally have to break some laws and get caught for them to connect final dots. But It's NOT like something I recommend for actual criminals. If you do crime, do it properly, do not rely on a chance, bribe law enforcement like everyone does.Social media and gayming platforms think I am your typical onions boy, they would shill me mechanical keyboards, nintendo switch and newest AAA slop. Yes, I know this is the place where everybody loves to rice and have complete control over their system, but unlike some people who use Linux, I actually have a job and things I need to do.I have been daily driving Linux, and it is very good, but I was wondering if it is possible to still have a good understanding of Linux systems on what some may call a “normie” distro like Ubuntu. Do I really need to use something like Arch or Gentoo to learn Linux? And if I do use Arch or Gentoo, am I even really learning Linux? It kind of seems I would learn more about the package manager and whatever other stuff it uses instead of actually learning Linux systems.
>>108502677Learn Linux? No, you probably won't touch the kernel.Learn GNU/Systemd/Linux? Then yes, you will learn a lot regardless of how you install your distro. The only difference is some stuff might already be already streamlined if its common or you might have to deal with changing or uninstalling annoying defaults if it's something uncommon or abtuse. The advantage of "hard" distros is to make your computer behave exactly as you want or just to explicitly see what is being installed/setup. If you pick all default options or don't know what things mean then you should just use an "easy" distro. If you just want to feel superior just join the "I actually do work on my machine" crowd.
God I hate these linux newfagsThe distros are ALL the same, its the same fucking thing. It doesn't fucking matter, pick one with a cool logo
>>108502677It's all still GNU/Linux, the biggest differences in user experience come from the Desktop Environment as they come with a different set of applications and tools, some support Wayland by default others are still on X11.Then there's package managers like apt, the new formats like flatpak and snap, and whether the distro uses systemd. If you're happy with what you're using just spin up a VM to play around in instead of distrohopping.
>>108502677There are a million ways to interpret having 'a good understanding of Linux'.If you want to learn the command line, filesystem, and tools to write software on Linux, you can use whatever. Ubuntu is fine.If you want to understand how a Linux distro really comes together from a bunch of modules to get a coherent experience running, you can learn a lot from installing and using Arch.Your choice - I have no interest in the latter. I use Fedora KDE btw
>>108502677Arch teaches you a lot. I basically own my entire career to it and the time I've "wasted" during my teen years. Even if I mostly use RHEL/Ubuntu at work, the knowledge I've gained from Arch were priceless. Gentoo is also fine from learning, but the time you spend compiling is just not worth it. Also, learning how to configure your own kernel, it's not a valuable skill in the field. Nobody will ask you to do that. Just use Arch/Artix.
Is CSS a programming language?
>>108506485it's turing complete so yes, despite what the brainlets are telling you
frontend isnt real programming, html is just glorified .md posting, css is stilling tool, not a programming language and js should never exist
>>108506489who hurt you, little guy? daddy didn't pay attention to the fact that mommy didn't care?
>>108506880Turing completeness doesn't make it a programming language. It makes it a bloated way of describing style.
>>108506489I miss the days of easy html. Learning css and JavaScript made me realize I hate web design. So I became a project manager and took that hatred out on front end devs before I got out of IT anything and into real work: construction.

I never used a VPN for torrenting. But I never download new slop, only old stuff nobody cares about
>>108507685Depends on who your ISP is and where you live. When I had spectrum those nigger faggots were all over me for torrenting anything.Att doesn't care as much and it seems the only torrents that got me dinged for infringement notices were anything by paramount. I solved this problem by paying for a seedbox and realdebrid. Best part is the seedbox comes with a free VPN.
>>108507685Depends on the laws in your country, your internet provider etc. I've been pirating since 2002 when I bought my first pc, pretty much daily since then. Never used a VPN or any sort of protection. Never had any issues.
