Why have manufacturers clubbed high refresh rate with OLED monitors? I just want a decently priced 60Hz OLED monitor with a 100% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage. Where are the standard, well-priced, office OLED monitors, chat?
>>108412084>Why, yes, I love paying two-fifth of the product’s cost for a feature I won’t even use ever. How did you know?Retard.
>>108412012well dell office flatscreen often be on multisync level performance
>>108412012Because, OLED naturally has incredibly fast response times, which translates to high refresh rates. It's a feature that has basically no cost to the manufacturer, and can offset the higher cost of OLED panels for some people. Lower refresh rates would just be a manufacturer intentionally gimping the panel.
Asus pro art make two of them
>>108412012>>108412302you are the retard, OLED can naturaly do high refresh rate, not allowing it would just be a fucking waste.you are not paying more because it's high refresh rate, that's just how the tech works.
I know age verification is a hot topic on /g/ but I actually find Newsom's proposal completely and totally reasonable>The law does not require photo ID uploads or facial recognition, with users instead simply self-reporting their age, setting AB 1043 apart from similar laws passed in Texas and Utah that require "commercially reasonable" verification methods, such as government-issued ID checks. Assemblymember Buffy Wicks, who authored the bill, said this "avoids constitutional concerns by focusing strictly on age assurance, not content moderation," in a press release. The bill passed both chambers unanimously, 76-0 in the Assembly and 38-0 in the Senate."So when you set up the device, it asks you how old the user of the device is. If you're setting it up for your kid you can say they're 11. If you're setting it up for yourself you can say your age. Then websites like pornhub can just access this number instead of requiring the user to upload their ID or credit card or whatever else.Personally if it were my kid I'd just say they're 18 so they don't get the kiddy gloves bs but this seems like a reasonable compromise against the surveillance crap
>>108396888While i'm generally not a fan of this, this seems like a much preferable solution. I rather have the pc admins be responsible than having to send my id to a million different places. Surely i'll be able to use the OS token in my browser, r-right?

an idea has been brewing in my mind; how would I live without the internet? As the internet becomes more and more unusable and obnoxious, I'm beginning to mentally prepare myself for when I abandon it.I wouldn't be able to do it completely. Practically any interfacing with government services is done through online. But I think it be worth trying it for a while at least, a couple of years, to see how it feels. imagine taking a two year break and coming back to see how shit it's gotten.

As you know, the free internet is about to end in approximately 2 weeks. What massive data sets, software collections and books need to be backed up? You do have a plan, right?
VMware is the greatest piece of software ever made, next to compilers. You can use it to run old OSs, and those old OSs can run old software. You'd say we'll all that shits obsolete, and I'd agree to a certain extent, but you can get software from before the subscription era. You don't even need to risk using warez, simply install the trials and nuke the vm once the period is up, just don't forget to save your files outside, then you can setup another vm and game the timer for another month or whatever. You could simply keep a reference vm saved somewhere that you clone once you decide to delete the old one and start over.

Once again the systemd haters are trying to redirect blame to developers for giving their users the ability to comply with the law, if you don't like the law then voice your disagreement to your lawmakers and the lobbyists, not to the people trying to allow people in the affected states to still be able to use their Linux system.

how do ai datacenters afford to run gpu clusters when they are so power hungry?

datacenter energy demand is probably pretty predictable (and also stationary), so this should give them better rates

>>108411966They have been complaining about not having enough power for the last 6 months. Also, by having all of the AI shit be massively unprofitable in spite of getting handed ridiculous amounts of money by investors.

I'd prefer gddr7, but 32gb gddr6 is also what AMD put in the r9700, and Intel is primarily targeting AMD (AMD has abandoned the top of the line).Price not confirmed. the r9700 has gone up in price from launch, and is now $1500 retail. What the fuck is up with coordinate systems? You'll have y going up in floating coordinates but y going down in pixel coordinates. Then, there's the even more retarded thing where some, actually most, will use left-hand-coordinates having me relearn math because they don't want le z to point le heckin outward. You know what you could do instead? Just have the fucking y point downward, and have everything consistent to begin with.

It's all a bit cringe, but if we use that terminology: prompt enginering is already dying, now it's all about the harness. Find a way to produce a good AGENTS.md, good documentation and have the agents update that on their own so they can perform long running tasks and manage context themselves.Another one is multi agent orchestration, but I think even that becomes less relevant than long running single agent flows. If you go prompt by prompt that can be pretty slow in comparison.
