im a poorfag looking for motorbike gear, im currently comparing temu vs aliexpress prices for basic apparel (gloves, neck) but its so annoying trying to browse aliexpress with all these "Choice" products so i cant draw a definitive comparison

Also when two chink products look very similar while being different brands, are they ripoffs or just manufactured at the same place but getting rebranded by different companies?

It's funny, six years ago I said here that I'd passed a selection process for a job as a civil servant. You said I'd be paid little and that the job wasn't very challenging. For a long time, I listened to your bullshit, but I see I made the right decision. While you're tearing your hair out, wondering if you'll have a job in a year or two, I'm here enjoying a good, lifelong position that I can only be fired for if I mess up really badly.

I don't mind the low salary; it's enough to pay my bills. At least I won't have to go hungry when the lean times come.

It's basically a department within the Ministry of Health. The current module I'm working on is a rewrite of a very old COBOL system that we're gradually rewriting in C#. The system handles general queues. We manage queues for blood donations, organ donations, surgeries, and so on. We have a single healthcare system, so even private hospitals need to integrate with our platform.

The case is huge, needlessly so, whenever I take it apart I'm always left in awe of how much is used for nothing, just empty space.
Being cheap plastic, it cracks and bends, plus looks cheap (nothing wrong with that, but I'd like smomething that feels nicer.
Loudness is not a problem, I don't mind how loud it its.
I guess it comes down to trying something new.
Typing this I also come to realize that I could just make a case for the existing keyboard and keep the pcb and switches intact...
>>
>>107001436
>>107001413
My bad I didn't read the whole thing. What I'd do is:

https://oblotzky.industries/products/gmk-cyl-norde
Spend 90% of the budget on good double-shot keycaps where the legends won't fade with use (you can always re-use them on your next keyboard if this one doesn't last)

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005008107811733.html
Replacement switches.

Either solder in all new switches across the whole board, or just as-needed on switches that are failing.

I wouldn't try to fix broken switches, because there's absolutely no way that saving the 40 cents per switch is worth the headache.
>>
>>107001487
If it's that bad, maybe it's worth it to get a new keyboard, but there aren't good options for ISO layout.

Keychrons are OK for clickies if you take all the foam out, but buying the clickies separately it becomes a bit expensive. That said I do have a V6 max with Gateron Melodic clickies, and I like it. But with what I spent on switches and keycaps it was not a $100 keyboard anymore.

Varmilo has some ISO-DE boards but they're a bit expensive and none of them are offered with clickies.

Filco still makes boards in a way that sounds proper with clickies (big empty plastic is the way to go), but everything they offer is ANSI-only.

libre has more features and fixes, less drama, and a developer who will just fix shit if you report it and it can be easily fixed. it is also more GPLv3/AGPL heavy, which is good for individual users and contributors, but companies hate it.
ff has less stuff, more drama, more money (and drama related to money), and an issue tracker that only exists so it is said that there is an issue tracker. but hey, it's "the official upstream".

Windows has a lot of shit people don't want. The problem is you're not allowed to disable it (microsoft edge is the big one)
that being said I use windows constantly (and linux) but don't act like Windows isn't shoveling shit, it is
>>
>>107001402
>Windows has a lot of shit people don't want.
I mean, for the most part, the bloat that windows has is dormant. Not being able to uninstall Edge is so inconsequential that it's hard to take linux fags seriously. being able to uninstall core components of the OS and bricking yourself is not a flex.

Windows is generally safe and just werks, which is a massive accomplishment in it's own way. I'll take a little bloat over linux any day.
>>
>>107001456
>Safe
No OS is safe, and no, third party corporate bullshit running at ring 0 is not safe at all
>It just werks
Windows still pollutes itself over time and updates, one of the most basic tasks an OS should do, are a pain in the ass for 99% of windows users, at least Linux distros are honest and let you pick your poison with the different kind of releases.
>>
>>107001456
the fact that a "core part" of the OS is anti competitive is one of the reasons it sucks
and where I work, if an update comes in when I'm not there... I come back and EDGE is default browser, BING is default search engine because the zoomers and women just click YES YES YES
of course this never happened on my windows 10 gaming PC
but the fact that they pull that shit off is gay
>>
>>107001249
>If you configured Linux to do all of the things Windows does it would take more RAM
Hard. Fucking. Redpilled. Truth. Nuke.
I've been testing several Linux distros since all the windows10 debacle. And I came to the conclusion that Linux isn't necessarily faster nor more efficient than windows. Both use way too much RAM and in some instances windows has a better management than some distros.
My vanilla Windows 10 Pro full bloat full telemetry test laptop uses 1.8 gb of RAM at idle, while most distros I've tested use near 3.0 gb at idle. In an OS that's supposed to be lightweight and spyware free.
However, that's not to say I prefer Windows over Linux, on the contrary. But it's time to stop pretending Linux is a perfect OS when there's things windows does better.

I just assumed how people spoke on the 990 being a treble rape cannon that I would have a better experience. Oh well, maybe 1990s next whenever I get the new thing itch.
>>
>>107000607
I've found most headphone below the aeon to just have a lot of obvious issues and you just kind of pick what suits your needs best, i think for most people some of the more neutral tuned headphones are easier to recommend as a blanket, but obvious everyone is different and has preferences.
For instance, the r70x is similiar enough in sound that you could realistically swap it with the 600 line and it wouldn't matter enough to have both of them, but if i had to only have one i'd still have sennheisers because of how trash the gen 1 headband of r70x was. But if someone was really really clamp sensitive and were one of the few people who could tolerate the wing band system thats probably their favourite headphone below $500.
I can see the merit of beyers to some people, most are really easy to find on warehouse deals, local sales, tuned with a lot of extra bass if thats your thing and generally sell spare parts on common parts of the internet unlike snoy or audio technica.
But i think for a lot of people if you are use to neutral tuning and hear the amount of bass and treble on beyers it's going to off putting, but i've only ever had the dt 770 long term, and the dt 880 for a short period. Kind of sucks that they are almost or are the same price as 6xx but no detachable cable without getting the upgraded models, but at least they were one of the only headphones still made in germany, but with the chink acquisition who knows how long that lasts
>>
>>107000667
German Beyers have been self-destructing coil shit for years already. Euro headphone brands are failed across the board. Best case Sennheiser and Beyer hang on in the same capacity as Koss and Grado.
>>
>>107001315
>German Beyers have been self-destructing coil shit for years already.
unfortunately yeah, it's just at the point where the majority of audio products are of such low quality that people just have no standards, i've seen more than a few people have 3+ chinkfiman headphones die within 5 years and continue buying more. It's just the sad reality of modern shopping that people will always spend less in the moment and be punished later.
>Euro headphone brands are failed across the board
Kind of weird seeing that even the hd 800 isn't made in germany anymore, mine is a pretty low sn model from like 2010 and it's still working perfectly to the day. Sennheiser is pretty much still killing it though, there is a decent % of the population that has been burned enough by trash from china, and their refusal to have any customer support that it isn't even on their radar anymore, and in those price areas it's still just sennheiser.
The tiers above say, $400 are so hyper dominated by american or japanese that they aren't really going to compete, but at the same time that isn't really new. Audeze has been around forever, dan clark has been going strong for like 10 years and stax has been there since the start, which was always the go to for high end anyways, nothings really changed. Some of the really expensive companies are so insanely bad and anti consumer that no one should even look at them, focal selling garbage pads for stupid prices, all the snapping headbands and refusal to warranty is just stupid anti consumer policys and should just be avoided. Not to mention snake oil companies like abyss, which aren't even worth mentioning because only low iq boomers buy from them
>>

>In this test, he wanted to see if people could tell the difference between two turntable systems. One of which cost hundreds of thousands of dollars, and another was worth less than a basic dinner out.

Mine did as well. Even had someone get really bent out of shape about it, which made the prof needle him with sarcasm for the rest of the semester. The only hobby that I'm aware of that attracts more drug addict conspiracy theorist living in basements and middle aged white men with 6-7 figure incomes than audiophilia is aquariums.

I knew a guy that sold stuff to audiophiles. The peak audiophile product was him taking those extra flat decorative glass marbles you put in aquariums, giving them a decent scuffing with extra coarse grit sandpaper, and putting a few of them in a cheap wooden box with slots he carved with a dremel for each marble. He sold them as frequency filter sets for some made up wave type that you could put in your speakers.
>Effectively telling audiophiles to put rocks in their speakers
>Charge 250 dollars per marble
>MFW he had people spend over 2000 dollars to get a full set for their 7.1 system
>MFW he had people come back for more to further enhance their new system that had multiple speakers in each enclosure
>MFW he had people ask him if he could make special ones for their headphones.

Not sure what you mean, it is a "game engine" in that it keeps a world state and does tool calling and all that stuff. Traditional game engines are fine for cloud AI stuff but for local they would just be competing for resources with the model, and I don't want to compromise on that

Not sure what the problem is, I'm was saying that traditional game engines (unreal, unity) would compete with resources but a light 2d engine shouldn't just be considered a "wrapper" because it still keeps state and manages world logic
