Sonnet 4.5 is ridiculously good and you can prompt it so fucking much despite it being so productive.

What the fuck is the future going to be when its gotten this good in span of few years

Neither of those things are stopping me though. Also you underestimate the average person's ability to actually succeed in tech. There's a ton of people telling ChatGPT, "Hey, code an app for me that'll make me a millionaire." Very few of them are actually drawing up detailed and intricate plans for the software they want to create and how to monetize it.

>I highly doubt this is true that you can just turn your brain off and have AI do the ticket
>and I dont count it if you just used AI to help you get to the solution yourself
I didn't say I can turn my brain off.
That's the difference between an actual software engineer and a vibe-coder.
But I can for sure go afk to take a coffee, come back and analyze what it's been done. Sometimes you need to do some fixes, or suggest a different approach.
However, there is no denying that LLMs, specifically CC right now, completely take care of coding with an extremely impressive understanding of the codebase.
In Claude Code you /init in your project and the thing analyzes your project entirely.
From there, with a little guardrail and experience in design patterns, you can hand over almost any task to it.
>>
>>106998737
how do you use claude code in practice? just do the command in terminal or do you use an ai editor?

so far I've just used claude in my browser because the AI editors look like a distraction

why dont other DEs have this?
this is absolutely necessary for a laptop so you can use it in tiling on the go and nontiling when running it docked/with multiple screens and a mouse.
i keep going back to check out cosmic because of this feature but cosmic still crashes and leaks memory so its still not good enough for prime time but the moment it's stable im switching. why the fuck dont gnome/kde/cinnamon have this?

The only window in the OP pic that could be split without ending up with two windows so small they're completely unusable is the settings app, which would never open a new window anyway.

Absolute key jangling bullshit ass feature for completely imaginary user workflows.

Anon, you need to learn to use multiple desktops if this is such an issue for you.

They're not necessarily stolen, but they could be, OEM keys are only sold to manufacturers and enterprises, sometimes they don't use all those keys and have them stored. How they got into a reseller's hands is anyone's guess
>>
>>106998546
so there is a chance they will be more legit than running the activator?
>>
>>106998560
no, OEM keys are always "illegal" because they're not meant for consumers, and I put it on quotes because MS doesn't give a shit and they don't have a way to verify it anyway, but in their rulebook that's not ok.

MAS on the other hand, despite being straight piracy, it fools MS systems so hard that it recognizes your activation as 100% legal, and it's persistent even after reinstallations.

So, in the end, MAS offers the same level of "authenticity" as an OEM key
>>
>>106998700
well in that case ill just use MAS i wont pay for something that is illegal

Mainly wifi drivers. It's a known problem for a certain brand of wifi modules, I forget. There is a fix, but you need to use ethernet or something equivalent to connect to the internet and then download a particular package, fwcutter something. Finding this out drove me nuts because I found it hard to find, actually doing it is annoying but not that bad, you just have to know what to do. And no, the non-free version doesn't include the drivers.

Never. And I mean never ever have I heard a white/asian dude refer to a full-stack framework as requiring any of the shit you listed. All it requires is common back-end (API) + front-end (UI) components. So you are, infact, the nigger here.

in rust, the type wrappers (Wrapping, Saturating) are more useful than the functions because they enforce the behavior on all operations without the possibility of a slip-up sneaking in.
>>
>>106998570
But you don't always want to do same kind of checked operation.
Imo it should be up to user/library to define wrappers like this. Just like how there is no volatile pointers types and you just use methods or make a wrapper type yourself.

What's up with that? At least do it for the thumbnails. Would save a lot of bandwidth.

>>106996357
It's more efficient than jpeg. Even lossless webp is far better than png. You wouldn't use bmp instead of png in 2010.
>>
>>106997505
There's some nuance there. Webp IS more efficient than a very specific variant of JPEG that uses chroma sub sampling.

There's 3 versions of JPG:
420 blaze it JPG
422 muh 1337 photography JPG
444 muh fidelity JPG

Other than that yeah, Webp curbstomps PNG/GIF 6 feet under the ground.
>>
What is the usecase for webp?

>>
>>106997799
I use it as dual boot, works fine, I like it very much. I had to buy a compatible wifi card though, 4 bucks.
note openbsd started just because a dev disagreed. same for dragonfly bsd. thisis nonsense.

the devs should just cut it with the arguments, all BSDs should be just one or two, with better driver support, they should port all network/wireless drivers from the linux kernel, like they did with graphics, and seek 100% compatibility with linux.

A good OS that's getting better with time. Making it much faster to get it up and running with a desktop will be nice. Not that it took horribly long before. Wifi support, graphics, bluetooth and audio are getting a lot better.

I'd appreciate some suggestions /g/entlemen. After 10 years I'm thinking of going either beige, grey, or all-white and getting a proper desk (either wood from downstairs or something else).

I'm just tired of my workspace feeling like a black hole or a garage workshop. It's just so dark, angular, and not as homely or complementary as I would like it. Though I might just have clinic fatigue, since normally I love industrial aesthetics as much as classic homes from about 30 years ago.
