Why aren't file manager wallpapers a thing? Most times you boot your PC, it's either gonna be to head over to the browser, or to head over to the file manager, you barely spend any time at your desktop, and while most browsers do allow you to set a home page wallpaper, you also barely spend any time at your home page. Meanwhile, it's not that rare to spend a lot of time sorting files, so a wallpaper would be nice.

OK, after 30 minutes of tinkering I got this working. If you happen to use PCManFM-qt and qt6ct you can paste this into a style sheet in qt6ct.

Windows XP experienced with things like HTML page as a background in the old days.
But it never took off. (welp the fact it was relying on some watered down IE engine probably didn't help)

>How does Rails compare to Django?
Django is the Rails clone for Python
Rails is somewhat more straightforward than Django, as an example no sub-apps
Rails/Ruby also has had the bundler package manager for a long time, whereas in Python you have like a dozen different choices
But Ruby doesn't have some Python focused libraries like numpy, pandas/arrow, tensorflow, and the other popular ML/AI libs.

You can use pretty much anything just like with any other language, notepad even, but sane support is only in JB IDE. VSCode finally got an extension which is still early in alpha.
But no, it's not closed source: https://github.com/Kotlin/kotlin-lsp

If I keep win 10, should I dl an antivirus? Will it make a difference? If so, what is the least shit and bloated one out there?
Hell, id probably revert back to win xp and win 7 if most of my apps worked on there and if I knew what I was doing
Pirated shit for many years with just using basic windows defender, never had any problems

Should I just go to linux? I don't want it, but I don't want win 11 even more

How come they are in an endless loop of fixing and breaking shit?
KDE 5 last minor was perfect, no bugs, smooth, fast
KDE 6 was completely broken
The last KDE update was also smooth and good enough
The latest one is full of BUGS AGAIN, why do we have to wait for 15 patch updates to have a stable desktop again just for it to go downhill the next minor?

>>

Idk, hyperos for tablets is pretty fine for what it is. There’s some bloatware, sure, but unless it's made by Google all of it can be removed. Maybe it’s different now since my Pad 6 hasn’t been updated in a year, but for $250 it’s honestly a great device. I mainly use it for slop consumption (revanced and MX Player), comic and manga reading (mihon), and occasional PS2/switch emulation (netherSX2), and it’s still fast and snappy to this day without any bugs whatsoever.

Welcome to the 4chan /g/ Usenet General Thread!

>What is /usenet/?
Open standard protocols still exist and are what the internet was built on (http, irc, rss, ftp, etc). Not owned by corpos, not under govt control, and are accessible to anyone with an internet connection. They simply exist to be built upon and enjoyed by all.
Some, like FTP are outdated and insecure. Others, like rss, irc, http, usenet are still glorious and wonderful open standards. Join us and discuss such topics on one such protocol:
NNTP, aka usenet.

>WTF IS USENET
Literally it means the Users Network. It’s an open protocol for posting and reading messages, organized by newsgroups. It's entirely decentralized, no single server, impossible to take down.
Today it is split between, binaries and text. The binaries part is what it’s known for today: piracy. The text part is forgotten and abandoned, until now.

>WHY POST ON USENET
It's open protocol, you can use any client you want or build you own. No costs, no subscriptions, no money. You can sign up through your ISP, or through eternal-september.org. Then you just need to install a client.

Nice, that's exactly what I like. I'm probably gonna use Softears UCs since I usually use them, though I'm tempted to irresponsibly shell out for UTs. I hear the stem may be kind of long, so maybe they'll have good seal without needing foams/etc? I suppose I'll see whenever I get them.

I demoed them multiple times and didn't like them at all. Shouty mids, anemic bass and harsh treble without any special detail retrieval.
There was a stabbing peak in the treble, not sure if it will be possible to completely get rid of with EQ without fucking up the resolution completely.
Tanchjim just like KZ follows the inverse value law - the cheaper the pos, the better it sounds. Bnnuy is good.
