After 10 years of working as a software developer, you know what I realized: I fucking hate computers
>>108510743I was like that fir about 5 years after working in IT fir 25+ years. The love came back by going back to offline computing. You don't hate computers, you hate the internet, users, normies, the coud, authentication, updates, malware, spyware, scammers, conmen, inane management and having to do it for money
>>108511229you could have just said you were a jeet, the rest is automatically implied.
>>108511092I'm neither I find women very easy to acquire and always have, am blue eyed That brings it's own issues.I was also a bareknucklt fighter for price money in my early 20s amongst other things.
>>108510743As an end user i wanna slice your balls with nail clippers. Statically linked huge binaries, web wrappers, endless retarded bugs. Do you just sit there and pretend to fix stuff?

Been working on a hybrid collection of single-purpose devices to replace my computer and smart phone, to this end I've been doing experimentation on a number of different types of computer replacements, RPi 2W0, ESP32, arduinothe plan is to have a set of homemade devices to perform specific tasks and not one thing more than that.for music an ESP32 mp3 player for mobile and a dedicated CD player for homefor a computer a RPi built into a portable DVD player with a keyboard I actually like and a custom linux from scratch implementation that runs faster than tar in antarcticaretro gaming emulation is bullshit, I have the old console and I'm modding thema lovely e-reader, either build from an ESP32 or a repurposed kobofor phone calls I'm going to turn an ESP32 into a cell phone (so I control the software) with a sim card module that has a physical switch, so when I'm not using it or don't want calls I can literally just cut it off. I'm going to build this into an old-fashioned home phone with a receiver and buttons and everythingfor home development I'm going to build a special purpose machine with an insane number of GPIO and multiple forms of connectivitythe piece of resistance is the pip-boy style cyberdeck, it's going to be slim, wrist mounted, and not make me look like a unibomber. I intend for people to see it and think "oh a smart watch"
how to wipe a drive in a way that is truly unrecoverable?fellas, It brings me great joy to tell you all that I've finally gotten over my lifelong crossdressing fetish. My 10+ years of pics have already been rounded up and deleted, and the recycle bin has been emptied. now I just need a method of disk cleaning capable of scrambling the magnets inside enough to properly dispose of the "evidence." I wouldn't have been so paranoid about this before in the past but I was reading about this whole incident here the other day thinking "yeah, I'd probably kill myself if something like this happened to me" so I really wanna do this to finally have that peace of mind and be done with it.
>>108509993power drill and a big ass neodynium magnet will do the trick, desu you only need one but if you wanna go full tinfoil use both, first open the drive up and pull out the platters, just doing this alone makes the data unrecoverable for like 99% of people because you definitely damaged the drive to do this, those arms are sensitive and you almost certainly fucked one up, swapping does no good either because the chipset on the harddrive is needed for data recovery, the remaining folks have special equipment to fix and/or transplant the necessariesso after you dismantle the things you'll find some powerful neodynium magnets VERY powerful (because they're used to move the arms really fast) take one of those and just rub it all over the platter, really get it in therefinally take a power drill and shatter the fucking things, or a hammer, pmuch anything that'll actually physically destroy the platters, unless you have the nuclear launch codes or some shit no one is going to put in the effort to try to rebuild a broken platter
>>108509993Ehy is this shit gettinf posted everywhere?

It's almost egg day
This year's Debian Project Leadership election has only ONE candidate and it's a Pajeeta (Sruthi Chandran):>She is inactive on the mailing lists, and her Salsa profile is private so we can't even see what her coding contributions are.>She's run for DPL 4 times before; lost each time>Her entire platform is just about diversity and bitching about cis males>She intends to formally incorporate Debian in the US, which would force Debian to introduce age verificationHer only claim to fame is organizing DebConf23, an event where a Debian developer literally fucking DIED because basic health & safety measures were not followed.A much more qualified candidate was hospitalized during the nomination window and couldn't apply in time, yet she has refused to reopen nominations.Debian is FUCKED unless the Debian developers all vote NOTA (None of the above).
>>108511222Can you install systemd on Void if you like systemd?
Yes, but why would you want to?! Runit is 100 times smoother, faster, and less bloated
>>108511296Systemd's "bloat" is administering fixes that I would otherwise have to manually perform. It is just objectively easier than other init systems

>>108510825>What would you guys use for servers then?FreeBSD and OpenBSD.

>>108507209Most users will never need Comfy's extra features and will instead benefit from the simpler, harder to fuck up interface of a Forge variant. For most users, Comfy will only be useful for new model support when it has this before Forge variants. This is not currently an issue because Illustrious and Illustrious-based models are still the anime meta.

Anons I'm a little retarded. Can someone break down practically what the leak really means for us the people? From my understanding we have the source code to only the cli. The cli essentially just being safe guards against naughty things. 7 different "please dont say nigger" and "please don't tell the user how to make a bomb" reinforcement checks. And we see the reporting used by searching for message keywords. But we can't hook up the cli, remove the checks on our end and have a now unfiltered Claude. What tangible thing do we have that we and not a competitor get from this? Is there a way to use the cli to get better RAG use for context? What is it they I, a mid to high level script kiddie can do with this. Or how far along are projects using this to hopefully deconstruct Claude into a usable open source application?

What are some good budget record players to buy? Do I go with a new one or a used one? I want to buy some of my favourite albums on vinyl and have them on my wall and listen to them of course. Assuming it's got a line out, all I would need to connect it to powered studio monitors would be a passive volume knob with RCA jacks, correct?

It seems Adobe is modifying hosts files without permission now. If you're using their programs or pirating, maybe give your hosts a look for new lines.
>>108510442You could rewrite their entire UI to be 100x better visually and functionally, and it'll be rejected for some autistic reason.
>>108510424what the fuck are you people doing? why is adobe even able edit that file? do you run everything as admin?
>>108511170Yeah that's the problem right there, any writes to that file should be asking for admin access but they aren't. So they're likely using the system account.Adobe software is effectively malware.
>>108510442>>108510698I've been using GIMP my whole life without issue. I've never even used Photoshop before, so what am I actually missing out on?
>>108510424I have been thinking about this lately nearly everyone I know uploads binaries they download to virustotal to check if its same or not what happens if they just have a script to fetch the "exploit" later on? It doesn't even have to be much just read all your private shit and upload it elsewhere. Linux users are fucked they don't get a immediate response and these days with fiber you don't even notice uploads in the 100s gb .

I'm guessing they will demand kernel level access in later versions of Denuvo. Will Microsoft allow them that?
>>108503965>Every single game with Denuvo has been bypassedfatal frame 2 remake too?
>>108510374>Why is it always those who create the lowest quality that do the most to protect it?Pirates are often the most unbiased critics and reviewers, since there's no sunk cost or buyer's remorse followed by post-purchase rationalization clouding their judgement.Garbage games are the only ones that have lots to gain by preventing piracy especially in the first weeks, because it stifles negative criticism.Btw, Persona and Shin Megami Tensei series games are probably the only games worth pirating from this new wave of playable Denuvo slop that the HV cracks brought. These aren't bad games if you're into grindy JRPG games but East Asians are retarded about piracy. Maybe Stellar Blade too, but I haven't played it yet.
