is there any resource out there that goes over pretty much every single step of computing from rock to software WITH indexes or sections? For example, like a documentation of literally everything going on when you move your mouse to click a button in photoshop>usb talking to the OS code>code talking to the kernel code>kernel code talking to assembly>binary doing shit>physical computer architecture firing off and doing shitthat kind of thing. I already know a lot but i'm curious if there's like some kind of hardcore reputable all encompassing and standardized resource, aside from a college

so this is the chrome alternative of ublock? I'm done with firefox at this point.
ubol is pretty decent but why settle for the inferior experience when the superior version exists and is available.

What programming languages could have avoided Cloudflare's Rust fail?
>>107578395C#. and ,NET Notice how Microsoft never has any of these type of outages and their computers run pretty much the entire world.
>>107589686Azure is dogshit and is down and gets hacked almost every month.Probably because they also bet on Rust now.
>>107589592No, Cloudflare in the past has also had trouble with an EDSL that compiled to C and that introduced a very bitter memory safety/UB bug. It is 100% reasonable for them to be apprehensive about UB. The issue is, Rust is not memory safe either. https://materialize.com/blog/rust-concurrency-bug-unbounded-channels/
>>107589794Also, memory safety, or the absence of UB, is necessary, but not generally sufficient.
>>107589794That memory safety bug you talk about had zero consequences and was on le spectre security theater level

How different would the world be if SGI was still around?
>>107585231>berkeley berkeley software distro
>>107584120Then why can't I buy a badass designed Nvidia workstation?
>>107587916Can you afford one? They definitely sell workstations.
SGI just evaporated in the face of Linux as much as anything else. Cheap GPUs, cheap workstations, sure they're not going to give the performance of one of the fridge-sized units but they could compete with an Indy at first quite impressively and at half the price, then eventually were stomping all their lineup and they gave one last hurrah with their Linux PCs and that was that. All the workstation companies have been killed off by Linux. And OS X too. Sun, SGI, Apollo. It's kind of a shame, Apple seems to be doing quite well with stomping the competition with their unified memory architecture platform. They're the only ones making one. But everybody else is being left in the dust and the NVIDIA solution of ganged GPUs is looking like it's peaking. It's really not a great way to go, it just happened to be there at the time this all got started. The fucking Novideo implosion will take out the world economy, all of big tech has been complicit.
>>107588822>mfw try to look up nvidia workstations on the crapperMulti-trillion dollar company by the way.
This is not a drill, it's finally confirmed that China has a working EUV prototype since early 2025, it's just undergoing testing and verification right now, expected to enter large scale production by 2028-2030. >In a high-security Shenzhen laboratory, Chinese scientists have built what Washington has spent years trying to prevent: a prototype of a machine capable of producing the cutting-edge semiconductor chips that power artificial intelligence, smartphones and weapons central to Western military dominance, Reuters has learned. Completed in early 2025 and now undergoing testing, the prototype fills nearly an entire factory floor.>The availability of parts from older ASML machines on secondary markets has allowed China to build a domestic prototype, with the government setting a goal of producing working chips on the prototype by 2028, according to the two people. But those close to the project say a more realistic target is 2030, which is still years earlier than the decade that analysts believed it would take China to match the West on chips.>The breakthrough marks the culmination of a six-year government initiative to achieve semiconductor self-sufficiency, one of President Xi Jinping's highest priorities. While China's semiconductor goals have been public, the Shenzhen EUV project has been conducted in secret, according to the people.https://www.reuters.com/world/china/how-china-built-its-manhattan-project-rival-west-ai-chips-2025-12-17/

I haven't worked in three years because of a traumatic brain injury. My goal is to make every single one of you faggots as unemployable as I am.I am working on automating vibe coding and vibe debugging. I've done both things a great deal myself, so I know exactly how to automate them. You can also automate basic app creation....sort of. Basically you give the AI agent an app idea and keep saying "yes" on a loop whenever it offers to add another feature. Run the script and after, I dunno, a hundred iterations, you'll have something pretty good. Try a thousand if you feel like spending, I dunno...an extra 50 cents? API calls are like a fraction of a penny, especially if you're using one of the older models.
