https://torrentfreak.com/game-pirates-beat-denuvo-with-hypervisor-bypasses-irdeto-promises-countermeasure/

Every single game with Denuvo has been bypassed
Bypass is available for all denuvo games on day 0

Irdeto is seething hard and saying more invasive DRM is coming. I'm guessing they will demand kernel level access in later versions of Denuvo.

Will Microsoft allow them that?

Theres people in this thread defending buying $120 games because "it saves time" lmao?
>>
>>108506729
Performance loss is real. That time when Denuvo servers were under attack, I couldn't play a game I paid for. So the performance dropped to zero.
>>
>>108506729
except its always some trivial bullshit. you think some random guy who is pissed off enough won't be better than whoever they hired to program denuvo?
>>
>>108507154
>>108507200
my point is hypervisor doesn't remove denuvo. You will still get hit by the performance loss. If the same people that complain on every discussion about it play now hypervisor games they admit this was never an issue but that's pretty hard to proof that those are the same.
>>
>>108507216
personally i only play pirated games and they run so fast on my laptop i've never even imagined performance issues exist

Looking to get a new monitor this year, not in a rush though. Located in Canada, partly used for gaming, watching media, and video editing, I do all my editing in 1080p though. Currently own 2 lg ultragears, 144hz 1440p ips, 27” and 32” respectively. Don’t want/need 4k, curved, or excessively high refresh rate, perfectly happy with 144hz desu. I was recommended a Samsung G50SF but would prefer it in 32” but couldn’t find anything like that locally.
Open to other ideas, or if the g5 is the play just deal with a smaller screen I guess.

For the rest of us a gpu is no more special than a trip to the grocery store
>>
>>108507183
You really don't have to exaggerate it that far. It is still a factor that when you're poor you are going to have to spend a lot more time and effort on whether to take an off-brand value grabdeal over a more mainstream proven product when it costs more than just groceries. But hopefully more recent events will have convinced poors that dropping down a tier for an Nvidia card is in fact the smarter choice than going for the value knockoff with no staying power.

Looks like we're finally getting the 9950X3D2 late this month. I'm going to upgrade my 7950X3D to it for the symmetrical vcache and other benefits, if all goes well. It should even unfuck the Windows scheduler a bit more.

One issue is having two separate disassociated LLCs on "one" CPU and with 2 3d caches you just have even more of that. I dont expect there will be any benefit to 2x 3d cache

I think he means that headphones with different isolation need different tuning. Resolve called it some mystical bullshit, don't worry about it.
>>
>>108506423
No I don't think that's what he meant at all.
Do you guys realize what he's actually doing? They measured their HRTF then measured headphones with in ear mics to get HPTF. Peaks he is tuning out are HIS HPTF.
Why would "different isolation" have any bearing on his individual treble peaks? He literally says "what headphone's acoustics expect" as if it means anything lol
After destroying muh techs he still needs some as resolved put it mythical bullshit to cope with what he's hearing. Why not attribute techs to the same mythical bullshit then? How is he so sure that it's inherent properties of a headphone and not just errors of their measurements? Maybe mics show louder resonance than he actually hears or whatever... Or maybe it's some kind of perceptual bias and he just likes more treble than measurements and their targets suggest

I hate the shitty threads you people make.
I want to share what has opened my eyes, for other novices like me, who are trying to leave Winslop 11.

This thread is supposed to put you on the right track to making your own decision,
after reading this thread the fog of Linux won't be there anymore,
you will know what you want and you will find the distro that is suitable for you.

> 1. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/1/1b/Linux_Distribution_Timeline.svg
This old image includes 95% of all Linux distros in existence, study this.

Studying this image alone, is going to help you see through idiotic arguments like "mint is better" or "go with arch" or "go with pop_os" -- most of them have a parent OS.

> 2. Distro arguments are pointless. #1 choice that you must make is what family Linux do you want and pick.
If you studied image above, you will see there distinct few families of Linux, the relevant ones are: Debian, Fedora, Arch.

I've been fucking around with OpenSUSE in VMs and like it a lot, but I've always heard it's kinda shit for nvidia cards, is that still true?
>>
>>108506169
OpenSUSE is very good. You can work around the Nvidia issues if you learn some basics, mainly just learning how to pair kernel version with driver version.
That said on bare metal, you may want to choose something reliable that has an Nvidia ootb option. Even Arch has that now if you use Archinstall.
>>
>>108504060
Most laptops are using proprietary ACPI protocols. You would need to patch the kernel, but since Debian's kernel is very old in comparison to other distributions, this option is out off the table, since I don't want to patch and compile kernel from scratch myself
>>
>>108503889
>>108504060
>>108506306
Getting a modern kernel is as easy as swapping for Liquorix (or Xen depending on the distro, but I've found Liquorix more reliable).
And updated firmware is as easy as
`cd /tmp
git clone git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/firmware/linux-firmware.git
cd linux-firmware/
sudo cp -va * /lib/firmware/`
and then
`sudo update-initramfs -u`

I also use CoreCtrl to manage my 9070XT, so with it I've also replaced my Mesa drivers with an almost up to date version with Ernstp's Mesa Almost-Stable repo;

This year's Debian Project Leadership election has only ONE candidate and it's a Pajeeta (Sruthi Chandran):
>She is inactive on the mailing lists, and her Salsa profile is private so we can't even see what her coding contributions are.
>She's run for DPL 4 times before; lost each time
>Her entire platform is just about diversity and bitching about cis males
>She intends to formally incorporate Debian in the US, which would force Debian to introduce age verification
Her only claim to fame is organizing DebConf23, an event where a Debian developer literally fucking DIED because basic health & safety measures were not followed.

A much more qualified candidate was hospitalized during the nomination window and couldn't apply in time, yet she has refused to reopen nominations.

Debian is FUCKED unless the Debian developers all vote NOTA (None of the above).

Sruthi thought Debian was India and that she could give a few non-answers and be done with it. She thought she wasa shoe-in. Her answers are burying her campaign.
https://lists.debian.org/debian-vote/2026/03/msg00106.html
>Can you point to recent discussions that you would describe as "spending hours on flame wars on mailing lists with no result"?
She ignored that question, because she made the flamewars on mailing lists up. That's just some rumor she'd heard about second-hand, or thinks that IRC/mailing lists are about flamewars because that's what Indian IT books say.

>Do you have numbers to share? Are there nice initiatives in other Free Software projects that we should copy?

Her answer:
>I am active only in Debian, so I do not have any solid idea about how things are working out in other Free Software projects. But based on whatever discussions I had with people from other projects, I would say that, while there may be a handful of projects doing good with respect to Diversity, most of the projects are in similar situation as us. Doing a best practice study of all the Free Software projects would a good initiative, something I might be interested in future, but right now, I do not have answers for that.
https://lists.debian.org/debian-vote/2026/04/msg00000.html
Anyone who has lived in a third world country like India or worked with Indians can see through her. Of course people like Lucas Nussbaum and Thomas Lange, who is a professor in Köln, would not have experience working with Indians and are taking her presentation and answers at face value.
