I guess it was inevitable. Next I suppose they'll rewrite it in Rust and festoon git-scm.org with the pride progress and Ukraine flags.
lmao you know /g/ is running out of things to cry about when they bring back up main vs master

COSMIC DE released in Stable the other day. What do you make of it? What environment do you run?
>>107605363meme project
>>107605363I think it's really nice. It's the only DE I use because it's the only one that has tiling out of the box, and it's really well integrated. The tabbed mode and float/pinned window features are good, the way it handles the tiling is very convenient, it's easy to switch between tiling/floating, it's relatively customizable (compared to gnome w/o tweaks), has a consistent theme, isn't based on gtk or qt (mostly a neat features), the integrated zoom is nice, and a lot of small features I care about work.Problems are that it's not customizable enough. 4 finger swipe for workspaces only, annoying hot corner is really easy to hit by accident, and the settings app doesn't let me add a new wallpaper folder or install a theme right now. The settings app is unironically holding the whole project back. Also if you don't know that Super+2 finger swipe zooms you in you can accidentally micro zoom in and think the compositor is fucked.

Why the fuck is linux so ugly
>>107596931that's not linux, that is a desktop environment called XFCE which can be used with linux. linux doesn't have a "look" except the one that YOU choose it to have.so what i'm saying is linux isn't ugly, YOU are ugly, and have ugly taste, and make ugly choices. skill issue.
>>107607254ok nerd, are you saying that computer isn't running linux?
>>107607291yes that's actually a possibility that the computer in the OP screenshot isn't even running linux. XFCE can be used with BSD (a different operating system entirely) and there is nothing signifying that the machine is running linux.but i think you understood my initial point is that, there are a plethora of desktop environments available to be used with linux, all of which have different UX and design aesthetics, and none of which are required to use linux.
>>107596931Linux devs are too autistic to understand UX>>107596975Anything on Linux beats Windows 11 by default though lol
>>107607381thing is if you look into the modern UX of windows and macOS these retards are even less understanding of what makes good UX. at least linux lets you make your own UX the way you want instead of being forced to use the failed designs of some brown DEI devs.

For me, it's Fedora. I don't know why anyone would recommend Mint these days. Fedora has sensible default settings, good built-in security, newer packages, good support, and you can easily replicate the Windows workflow with KDE. And if you want a macOS-like experience, there's GNOME.Best distribution for new users? Yes, I think so.

MX Blacks
Scratchy Cherry is just having character, personality in the switch. Cherry's uniquely thick nylon tops make it possible to experience this, combined with swapped springs and polycarbonate films. This was not common before. Diverse plates like PP or POM were not so common before. The scene has changed, FOR THE BETTER.Scratchy ass dry clacks is just character, it's timeless, like vests or checkered shirts. You use modern switches, and they're all well-lubed. Some of them are just lube central if you open up the housing and take a peek at what's inside. Now you put that next to a nice set of MX2A Blacks (Back in Black!), SS'd and filmed to PERFECTION.And they sing. They make themselves heard. And felt. And you remember why Cherry has endured for decades, and it's not just market complacency or boomers or mass orders for office supplies or what the fuck ever. It's timeless. It has a unique base to it, and it's retooled now with the MX2As for the next generation of clickety clackety mechanical keyboard enthusiasts.
