>asks me to update for the 3rd time within 1 week>go see the changelog notes and its just "We sped up the performance of scrolling in long chats. If you are in a big gardening group, now bloom scrolling is also vroom scrolling." For all previous 45 releasesWhat the fuck is going on? Are they exclusively hiring jeetcoders too now? Why arent they saying what theyre really going in the changelog
>>106932782>Why arent they saying what theyre really going in the changelogThey are busy amking bloom scrolling also vroom scrolling
WTF is wrong with KDE?
>>106932651ctrl+right 3 times
>>106932651>>106932677or just ctrl + leftretards
>>106932689>>106932677Why is it not in the fucking menu, retards?
>>106932584The KDE devs certainly seems to thing so. Which is a shame since there are so many more things they could easily alter to make things look better. Like better contrast, less overuse of pointless icons everywhere, a less busy looking symbolic icon theme, less overuse of pointless borders everywhere, less schizophrenic use of rounded vs sharp corners, less attention grabbing and more consistent use of accent colors, less random transparency
>>106932755>muh consistencyWindows 95 was far less consistent than Windows 3.x and yet performed much better on actual usability studies.Stop copying fagOS, it is NOT great from an usability standpoint.
What is the technological explanation for this?

What do you think they're going to do with all the conversations you had with it?

I want to buy my mom a small form factor PC for Christmas to replace her older PC that isn't compatible with Windows 11. I know it would probably be cheaper to just install Mint on her old PC, but I think a new computer would be more fun and I don't have any other gift ideas. I don't know anything about mini PCs though. Are they a meme? Are they reliable? She would only be using it for boomer stuff: emails, shopping, Facebook, Youtube, paying bills, etc. However, because she has grandchildren, it being able to run less demanding games would be nice too. I was currently looking at Minisforum PCs. Anybody have experience?
>>106932711The only good mini PC is the Intel NUC. Not the Asus NUC mind you, Intel. Everything else is trash. Whether it's by a reputable manufacturer or chinkshit, it's all trash. Get an old NUC for 100-300 bucks and it will do everything you specified and be silent, comfy looking, energy efficient and most of all beautiful while doing it.
>>106932711>Are they reliableYeah>Are they a memeNo, in my experience they're faster than comparable laptops while being cheaper because they don't have to spend money on a screen / keyboard / touchpad / battery etc. > Which oneMinisforum / Beelink are both good. The Beelink SER8 can play GTA V / RE4 Remake on med/low at 60fps, 1080p. It will destroy boomer stuff and handle minecraft / roblox / fortnight / whatever gen alpha children are playing now. The minisforum um760 slim is also an option if you're on a budget. >>106932731Intel mini pcs are garbage. The SER8 uses like 2watts on idle with Arch Linux and ramps up to 50-60 when gaming.

The 4090 was a legendary GPU. The 5090 may be better but it didn't have the impact the 4090 did at all. 50%+ performance jump over 3090ti, $1600, worth more than it launched for years later. There's never be anything else like it.

recently (last week or so) I've noticed that I can't open webm's at random times. when I click on it to open it in the same post, it just stays greyed out and doesn't open. when I open it in another tab I get an error ''Too Many Requests'' but sometimes it does work and it just loads. what can I do to stop this?I use a vpn but every 4chan (sub)domain is split, it should be okay no?
wtf is up with 4chan captcha? Its been the tiring weird letters with dots over them captcha the past week. How to go back to standard letters without dots captcha?
>>106932697i only get those when i have to re-verify my sessionif you're so much of a privacy nut that you won't even give 4chan an email address that might be it
>>1069327144chan has never asked for an email. Timeout has always worked for a few posts then gone away. Been like this for quite a while. Only this week started seeing the dot style captcha for every post.Don't know if it matters but I'm running 4chanX.

At first, I thought GPT-5 had cracked those math problems on its own.Turns out (as Demis pointed out) GPT-5 just looked up the answers via web search. We really need better peer review for these “AI discovers science/math” claims.
The last few months have been devastating for LLM dreams:> Apple reasoning paper and the ASU mirage paper and many others confirmed that LLMs still can’t solve distribution shift. > GPT-5 came late and fell short. > Karpathy just said agents aren’t anywhere close, and that AGI is a decade away.> And Hassabis just blew up some wildly overhyped claims from OpenAI about math.Game over, man.LLMs have their place, but anyone expecting the current paradigm to be close to AGI is delusional.
People who are in charge of selling you their product and purposefully block access for people who want to test and validate their results are in fact full of shit.Who knew?
