Man, the actuation of the heads on the new HDDs I installed is so strong that if I place my hand on the case it almost feels like something is knocking on the thing. They're not particularly loud or anything, but I've never seen something like this happen lmaoI wonder if it's some resonance thing or something like that. The HDDs are mounted via rubber grommets so they should be fairly decently isolated, though they're only held in with 2 screws instead of 4 because the 2nd pair of holes on the drives don't align with the trays.
>>107747300What case do you have? Changing from an old thermaltake case to a fractal silenced my drives. The old one was acting as an amplifier for the things.

okay but has anyone else noticed that every time a pop song hits #1 the drums sound like they’re marching east at 120 bpm and the producer credits spell nothing if you read them backwards except maybe soup. the labels say “organic growth” but my playlist refreshed itself at 3:17am and suddenly everything was minor key and smelled like cold static. coincidence? no, because vinyl is round, clocks are round, and someone keeps clapping off-beat like it’s a signal. not saying anything, just saying the beat knows things and the silence between notes is doing paperwork.

Anyone else finding that Massive X sounds better than Serum 2? It's a pain in the ass to program for sure but it does seem to hit harder and sound cleaner
>>107747023idk about sounds better, it's lacking a lot in comparison in terms of effects and osc types (probably a big update ahead, I got a survey email about what we want), but it is faster for some things I like the LFO switcher and the fact all the LFOs are set up differently from the get go, some sync'd some not, exciters, random ectand I like the separate performers, though drawing everything is slow, I wish we had a hugely expanded drag-and-drop shape menu built off the one in Massiveoh, and one more thingBRING BACK THE FUCKING LIGHT THEME YOU FUCKING GERMAN FAGGOTSWHO THE FUCK ARE YOU TO REMOVE A THEME YOU ALREADY ADDED THAT PEOPLE LIKED, IT DOESN'T HURT ANYBODY, IT'S ALREADY THERE, IT'S FUCKING OPTIONAL, BRING IT THE FUCK BACKKKKKK

I will post this now before it reboots again but I am not done.
I like Linux better than Windows, but I like a lot of programs that aren't available on Linux. Because software is a tool, and I am a REAL computer guy, I have multiple machines and some of them run Windows and do not intentionally cuck myself into only using Linux performatively.

No one cares? For decades this smooth presentation was the standard for live and taped television.
>>107747237>Or use something like FFmpeg to make it permanent.ffmpeg has a filter called bwdif for deinterlacing, which I think is based on yadif. Don't know if it's still the best option, but I've used it in the past to convert VOB files on DVDs to 60 fps MP4s.
>>107747288You've got interlaced frames composed of 2 separate fields each. When you combine them (weave them), you get a whole frame, but unless the footage was originally shot progressively, you'll also get scanline-like artifacts called "combing" because, unlike when parsing movies, each field corresponds to a different point in time. Deinterlacing is precisely the techniques used to deal with the aforementioned combing, and it's generally just a hit and miss by virtue of not being an exact science. Yadif is not necessarily better at this than other techniqyes, but I remember being advertised as such back in the day.Best way to deal with this is by simulating an interlaced display (like WinUAE does) but it takes a very bright display with a very high refresh rate to compensate for the blanking, which's not perfect and still rather costly/impractical today.
>>107747347To correct, some shows were converted to 60i.Any normal TV game shows, soap operas, news, commercials were 60 frames per second. Things like Seinfeld were shot on film (23.98/24 Hz) and converted to 60i.
>>107744643Jesus Virtua Racing looked so good in the Arcades. I had forgotten. Or the ones I saw were on shittier CRT displays.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qB8VEql0TsE&t=150s
>>107743561On CRT TVs it does basically like like 60 FPS.The scanlines are quite fat.But on the downside this makes 480i pretty flickery.
I mentioned on a /pol/ thread about SSD prices that I had a Samsung 840 pro SSD that had basically been on 24/7 since I bought it 14 years ago. An anon in that thread wanted crystaldiskinfo but I was too lazy to reinstall windows on it. Then a Russian anon told me about smartmontools. Hopefully both of them will find this thread since that one is now archived. Now, to the main two points of this thread.-Can anyone beat my high score?-How long do you think this MLC SSD can last? Because I'm going to run it until failure.

Getting programming jobs by June will be incredibly difficult. All the entry-level and intermediate jobs will be accomplished via a $1000/month subscription to claude code. Every subscription will replace 10 full-time jobs. Many companies will go under. There will be no jobs. Only FAGMAN will be "safe". Most FAGMAN employees will either quit voluntarily or fight dirty to not get fired.Programming Jobs and Software jobs are KAPUT in six months. You have been warned.

My board up and died yesterday so I'm looking again. The thing is I like a somewhat tactile switch and most of the big recs like Rainy 75 and Bridge 75 all seem to come with linear switches. I like 75% and TKL form factors best, RGB is not needed at all. Looking for recs under 150 USDMy board had "HyperX Aqua" switches which I guess are pretty similar to MX Browns. I have used MX Reds before for a year and hated them
