Ignore all the tech luddites telling you to just use pencil and paper they never went to college.

When I was in school (2014-2018) I used a boogie board sync, took notes during class, then after class synced the generated PDFs the device made to my laptop. And there I would go through the notes again and rerwite them in a cleaner form (using Latex etc) to a personal wiki. I liked it more than carrying a million notebooks. And I had a few professors who were cunts and would ban ipad / laptop in class but let me use this thing once I showed them all I can do is scribble on it and hit erase.

These days I would just get a cheap android tablet, or get a surface computer and use something like onenote. They make x86_64 tablets that run windows so you can have one device for everything.

just use paper. if it was ok for all the mathematicians for the whole of human history, it will certainly be enough for (you)
>>
I recommend pencil and paper for math-heavy classes. I'm not one of these retvrn retards, but I found it to be the best solution. Live-LaTeXing your notes is possible and I was able to do that, but I found that thinking about LaTeX distracted me from the content of the lecture.

Why not get a normal USB-C hub and add a USB-C (female) to USB-C (male) extension cable? Somewhat cheap still, you get to choose cable length, it's removable when you don't need it. Sounds more reasonable than a hub with a long cable.

Depends on the age. Young people rarely think about health but older people do.
Gene, AI and brain tech could give us a great (Solarpunk) future but how will people spend all their leasure time paid for by basic income?

We could have an uplifted future where nobody had dyslexia, dyscalculi tc. but instead had an IQ of minimum 120 at today's scale and superb health, Gattaca on stereoids. Perhaps humans need challenges.

Most people are racist, nowadays it's super easy to get radicalized with internet showing you the worst subhumans from each race having something to say about yours. Also wtf is up with the Sonjas, the stems don't even hold the keycaps in place, nevermind the usual barely-there fit of the bottom housing against the hotswap socket. It's loose on both ends with the Sonjas!

>try Windows
eleven different design languages in one, and they're not even trying to pretend that Windows Shell can work on anything slower than a quantum supercomputer (see NVIDIA documentation on Windows increasingly requiring more GPU resources just to idle), and the animations aren't even good enough to justify it
>try Xfce/LXQt/LXDE/Budgie/Cinnamon/Deepin/etc.
Dogshit Xorg DE is dogshit, anything without Wayland on a Unix-like system is a meme
>try GNOME
Inherently un-ergonomic design, GTK weirdness, it looks really good though - have to give them that
>Le window manager with a Waybar shell!!
They made five for Niri and not a single one allows you to adjust drawing tablet sensitivity without having to edit a .txt config (WMs don't come with text editors preinstalled and you have to manually set file extension associations)

I've tried them all, I've even tried ReactOS, yet I keep coming back to KDE Plasma, it is ergonomic, it is lightweight as fuck, it is so customizable I gave up on it halfway through because I couldn't decide how I wanted my desktop to look, it has proper fractional Wayland scaling support, it is the most mature with HDR thus far through Kwin, you can turn it into a tiling window manager with one script, how did the Germans do this? Is this the best desktop GUI in the history of desktop GUIs?

So just got into linux and decided to install debian after reviewing the other stable newbfriendly distros (ubuntu, mint, fedora, etc). Decided not to mess with the corporate leaning ones and settled on debian, but just found out theyre also hopping on the popular kill-all-straight-white-goys bandwagon. Should i be concerned and prepare to switch to something else, or is it just a nothingburger and debian should still be trusted? If the former, what distro should i consider instead? From what i read it seems like void linux ticks all the boxes(stable, non-corpo, non-political) besides the newbfriendly part.

if you're a windows 10 refugee, devuan should be fine. if you're new and wanna learn how linux works though i'd recommend against it. you'll end up stagnating in skill because you aren't being challenged regularly / at all
"stability" doesn't just come from stable packages, it comes from knowing the ins and outs of your system and how to fix it if things go wrong. if you stick with just debian / devuan, fedora, uboongu, arch, etc you limit your ability to adapt if your chosen distro dies, which is a real possibility that you can seem to sense. it exists no matter which one you choose, corpo backing or not
unironically install arch / gentoo. otherwise devuan is fine, just stop thinking and pick a distro
>>
>>106866641
Okay let's take Mint as example. Mint is basically for everyone, it's stable, well known and just werks. Many boomers use Mint and you can imagine their political stance. Even if Mint would think about going ultra woke, they would not do it, because if they mess 50% of their userbase (boomers), then they would also lose the majority of their donors (boomers).
