I'm jerking off so much to grok video I pulled my groin muscle
Holy fuck, does it have limits?

Death to LEDs in street lighting
>>106862155>Get new materialthats the exact opposite of what I want! Did you even read the thread?
There's no reason why the LEDs couldn't use the old, more natural, color. The bright white lights they use now are objectively horrible.
>>106867820Nta, but I like the dreamlike quality it gives video. They also mask the the rough edges of old special effects, making them look more real. It helps that I also got a shit load of them for dirt cheap.
>>106861630$2 a year for less obnoxious street lights? Sign me up.

>>106870474No, it won't. But those who still use it will be stuck in an endless feedback loop of perfectly tuned algorithms that deliver catered stimulation. These people will have square eyes and crippling myopia, tied up to sustenance machines and masturbators.
>>106870487>tied up to sustenance machines and masturbatorswith an amphetamine drip, right?
>>106870473I would unironically prefer to play MMOs where all the other players are AI
>>106870437comfy
>>106870423The internet is evolving rather than collapsing, and the rise of AI-generated content will push platforms toward stronger identity systems, provenance tracking, and moderation tools that restore trust. As models flood the web with synthetic material, reputable websites will differentiate themselves by verifying contributors, disclosing AI use, and maintaining clear editorial oversight. Users will migrate toward these curated ecosystems, much like the early web’s return to smaller, community-centered spaces but with better safeguards and transparency. Instead of a graveyard, the internet could become a layered network where authenticity, accountability, and human judgment are once again the markers of value.
Any good music player /g/ can recommend? No I don't want to "just use my phone" I want a device that can only play music

>>106869922Just ordered the Shanling M0 Pro, it's cheapest one I could find that would take over 1tb cards while being super portable. Most of them seem to be super bricks with bunch of snake oil for audiophiles and cost more than a phone so I don't really see much point in them.

Welcome to the 4Chan /g usenet group Thread!>What is /usenet/?Open standard protocols still exist and are what the internet was built on(http, irc, rss, ftp, etc). JNCIE in a weekI am so not looking forward to being crushed for a week after the failure.
>>106870442what if I wanna do IT. I'm sure it pays well but I just don't see myself being a code monkey making some soul-draining apps forever. I'd rather work with networks and stuff. I just wanna get an entry job, any tech job.
>>106870472You can do IT, then, and probably move up to network engineer or something.
>>106870464Shut up furnigger.

>you don't own a computer>it owns you>the most skilled programmer in the world cannot fix his jeep when an outsourced cdjr jeet in bangalore merges an untested update into main and publishes itThoughts on this?
>>106868903>>you don't own a computer>>it owns youIt's close to true, but it's more like: unless you are running open source software and you have full control over what software can run on the system and whether or not updates are installed and when they are installed, you don't own your computer - Microsoft or Apple or Google or Amazon own it (depending on whether you're using windows, or macos, or android, etc) - it ultimately answers to its true master. And you'll eventually feel the pain from that, whether that comes in the form of your car suddenly being bricked by untested updates, or whether google has decided you're no longer allowed to run unsigned software on your phone, or if microsoft has decided that you're not allowed to use windows unless you create a microsoft account, etc.
>>106868903>>the most skilled programmer in the world cannot fix his jeep when an outsourced cdjr jeet in bangalore merges an untested update into main and publishes itI m pretty sure a good programmer could fix it.
>>106870413>I m pretty sure a good programmer could fix it.A good programmer certainly has an edge in diagnosing and understanding the problem, and may be able to apply temporary mitigations or, in rare open‑source contexts, produce a functional patch. However, fixing the vehicle outright typically requires cooperation from the manufacturer because of closed code, secure‑boot enforcement, safety regulations, and liability concerns. So OP isn’t entirely inaccurate—it highlights the systemic loss of direct control we experience when critical software lives behind corporate walls, even for the most capable developers.
>>106870413How would you connect to it in the first place?

Have you ever used GuixSD or NixOS?Are you still using it or have you switched back to a regular distro?
>>106829757I failed and am on NixOS now btw
>>106867133well, that was fast
>>106829528I tried it about 3-4 years ago and got filtered by the lack of docs. The default guix install came with a login manager, I don't have any reason to use that so I tried to remove it as my first tweak of the OS, and failed miserably to create a working system without a login manager, then put off properly fixing it forever.I'll reconsider it again when Gentoo finally goes to complete shit, probably.
>>106870568there's a startx service type now which handles all the xorg path stuff, so it's trivial to not use a login manager now
>>106870592I'm sure it's improved since then, but I also don't really have the time to tinkertranny anymore. It sounds cool in theory but realistically I'll only ever give it another real try if my current setup I'm now used to and happy with starts developing major problems.
