kek. GPL is retarded.
the chinese will take it anyway.
IP as a concept just doesn't work and AI is accelerating its demise.
if you wanna control your code then you should keep it secret not release it with a mickey mouse "license" attached that nobody cares about.

Okay well it's still the best we have at the moment and not EVERYONE is autistic enough to A/B compare video encodes for more than 5 minutes. VMAF works in the general sense that: scores below 90 are dogshit quality and scores above 90 are high quality. This alone solves a tremendous amount of physically intensive guesswork.

Like practically speaking there will be some degree of quality loss, that's just a concession you make to save space. I don't get the whole "BBB-BHUT if you zoom in 400% and treat the video like an image and look at this specific spec, you'll see that...". Absolute mental illness.

VMAF is an objective quality metric, and it saves time by allowing people to not A/B compare the actual end video and uh, wait, but shit, wait, that's why AV1 is said to be so good. No one actually ends up looking at how blurry the encodes it makes look like, and all these video nerds just go 'look bigger number better :p'.
You're eyes can easily tell if the encode is dogshit or not anyway. More important is actually watching the encodes.
Screenshot nitpicking is still useful for comparing spatial artefacts and detail retention. Best way tho is to watch and A/B. AV1 is better than anything at extreme compression (under 3000kbps) and flat content, but even at high bitrates it's blurry. VMAF/SSIM is only a rough indicator, yet it's used definitevly in encode comparisons.

Artcels status? Owned, kek

>what is it with trannies/lefties and their obsession with “art”?

Like everything else with them, it's only "art" if it fits their narrow definition. They have a delusion that they're the most talented drawer/painter/modeler/whatever and that AI is somehow holding them back.

It's more problem-reaction-solution nonsense. The fake controversy. That's why they're trying to make any use of AI in a workflow something that must be disclosed... falsely lumping slop together with proper use of AI to enhance an end result.

There's no such thing as an AI where type a prompt and it does everything start-to-finish. There will always be a need for tweaks and refinement. It can give you great starting points but without some kind of actual talent it's just going to end up as generic slop.
>>

Whatever happened to that

RADV is now faster at ray tracing than the first-party Radeon driver.
Also with the release of Linux 6.19, old GCN cards from 2012 can now enjoy the full benefits of the modern driver, meaning even they can run RT games through emulation. Can your old GTX do that?

My colleagues use AI to write comments on my PRs
A Junior colleague doesn't know what a primary key is but he insisted he wants to write a SQL script which we need to execute on live environment
We had an argument with another developer, he used AI to create counter arguments on my arguments
We had to delete lots of rows and one of the developers came up with SQL Server Heaps (first time I see them)

I don't disagree with the possibility of causation but that study isn't evidence of it (unless they tested the same people before and after using AI). Could just be that dumb people rely on AI more.
