I collect 90s and early 2000s porn and there is no way to find this content other than pirating it. Another case where piracy is the only option is country blocks, especially relating to streaming music or movies or shows.
In a lot of places, there aren't legit options to view the content legally. Anime and manga are a great example of this. Legit English publishers only buy the rights to a fraction of what gets released in Japanese, and for the rest of it the only avenue for reading it in English is piracy.

there are some VST's in there with keygens for codes to unlock full versions, at the moment in time the developers might have not made money from their software, but their name definitely was made known by people spreading it.

That's a problem for multiple reasons, main one is that no one can access it anymore. Locked away , lost to time. Only people able to access it are ones with files on their hard drive.

It's overkill for many applications. A lot of desktop software in particular is written in C/C++ for historical reasons and not because it actually needs C/C++/Rust levels of performance. You could take a 2x time and memory hit for a GC'd language and nobody would even notice. It would still be running circles around all the electron shit people are writing these days.

syscalls are in C, once you need to go raw syscall, you have to talk C anyway, so whats the point in rust for lower level stuff.

I think its fine for more complex stuff, but if youre just gluing syscalls together, rust ain't it.

Contrarians. Both are good, use either.

MPV on it's own is unusable since last time I checked it forces on screen controls onto you. At least not without going full tranny with a bunch of configs and shit. Using it with wrappers is pretty nice however. Haruna is probably the best media player I've used so far, other than maybe good old MPC.

Haven't used VLC properly in like 6 years but i remember switching because it was shit at handing some file types.
