There are serious injustices with critical web infrastructure. FOSS devs are underpaid/not paid at all. Take Denis Pushkarven's tragic story. Despite maintaing crucial web infrastructure he's broke. I think the solution is for unpaid devs is to stop maintaing & let the system temporarily collapse, make corporations beg for it back. Bargain for a fair wage. But most people on Fediverse disagree with me and think the EU should take full control, arguing server infrastructure should be overseen by the highest levels of the European Gov. I am asking for market consequences to manifest. But they as for strong centralized Government. I suggested that devs like Pushkarven switch to GPL3 and then show off software updates locally, Upload a YT video showing off the highlights of offline not released fully functional core-JS updates, but don't redistribute the code, instead say they will only distribute code publicly for a large $10,000 dollar fee. See how much bargaining power it has. It doesn't violate the GPL/MIT to show demos of unreleased software and request bargain payment for release, but the GPL3 is better because it demands reciprocity, if code is modified they must return the favor. We can also normalize paying for feature request all around, the software is free but asking for features is labor expect paying for that

Debate: Do we need Government in the FOSS server realm? It looks to me like the Europeans on Mastodon can't tell the difference between voluntary community driven projects & a strong centralized welfare state, they act like these are the same thing. To them Government and Community are synonomous terms. I don't understand why the claim of allowing the system to temporarily collapse until maintainers are paid a fair wage is controversial? I don't understand why they think everything should be free as in beer. Its odd to see self declared "anarcho communist support the EU.

I feel like a retard but I cannot get this code to work (its review for an Intro to Python final I have later this week). The multiplier I am taking in during the second "while True:" block needs to be both an integer (which I have done) and equal to or greater than 1. I cannot figure out exactly how to add the second part without it fucking up the code. Its a word repeater program. Thanks. I'm not into coding at all and this is frustrating me

def repeat_word(re_word, count):
return (re_word + " ") * count

while True:
word = input("Please enter a word to repeat, or 'Q' to quit: ")

if word.lower() == "q":
print("Thank you for using Word Repeater! Goodbye!\n")
break

else:

It's obviously the opposite. Compilers are very cool. Gay transpilers don't deserve to be called that way.
Bytecode compilers get a pass but it's better to indicate that bytecode is the target.

Yeah I agree they are both voluntaryist. But Tucker's ideas on property rights are different like you noted. Proudhon and Tucker were strongly against absentee ownership and patents. Mutualist would clash with AnCaps over a boss who owns a factory he never set foot in. AnCaps landlords would be demanding payments and Mutualist anarchist would argue its irelevant unless they personally maintain the property they rent out. This is a bit of a stretch, but some vulgar AnCaps would probably be ok with poor people dying in the streets acting like "the free market is wiping out excesses"

Mutualist would refuse to consider absentee ownership and patents property. Their courts would ignore the landlords demands for payments, and patent violations. Unless he personally unkeeps the property. The An Caps would have no communal bank either. The people who manage the factory would be the true owners in Proudhon/Tucker's system, but according to AnCaps the owners would be the CEO who never seet for in the premises or a bunch of corporation share holders who fund from afar and require a state to upload their absentee contract from people who occupy the building. The reason collectivism is so harshly criticized in IA literature is because Josiah Warren had to personally put up with the pain of sharing tangible resources at Owen's commune, FOSS isn't the same because you can make a copy of GIMP or LibreOffice, but you cannot make a copy of a cow for steak or anything tangible. and yeah, I agree with you some anarcha feminism I seen are crypto nanny statist, its all biology the need for a care taker husband instinct is being replaced by a nanny state.

x220 and as someone else said a modded x230 are basically the most modern classic keyboard thinkpads you can get. However if you wish to actually use it for regular computing tasks even these are kinda on their way out. Someone on their librebooted x200 will say that that is not true and it is important that you disregard that person.
>>
>>107515028
Doesn't matter. USB-C has a chip built in that handles is. USB-C will only pull as much voltage as it can safely handle. I charge my Thinkpad on 45w phone charger all the time when I'm not at home or the office (I have an OEM 65W charger in both places but keep a 2 port "90W charger" in my laptop bag - it's really just 45W each port, but legally they can call it 90W because it does provide 90W at one time, just not to a single device - and it works great so long as I'm not under max load in performance mode with backlight cranked to 100%

I am pretty sure that by 2030 most people will use it just to host some of their semi-personal videos and nothing else, because youtube as a platform for actual content creators is already dying, and in 5-6 year will be a complete dead nigger baby, although I highly doubt that there will be any decent, normgroid-friendly platform like this, so most people will probably still use it to "just upload a video" and forget it.

Is any of this really a surprise anymore?
I seem to recall something about them supposedly (re)committing themselves to focusing on stability and performance once again; or so they claim anyway.
I really want to know what the heck they even do anymore because it's certainly not programming that's for damn sure.
the older versions of windows would bsod way more don't get me wrong but it feels like we've traded stability for a different type of instability.

kinda like a good part of all of that is programming and they're discovering they can't fix the shit that doesn't work with ai because ai at one point can't fix it's own shit so you need real programmers but programmers look at all the shit and are like "oh damn gonna take some time" so now you've got shit+fixing the shit
