the reason is blind brand loyalty thanks to advertising and tribalism. see: name brand vs store brand despite the product literally being the same with a different label.

I'm going to use Clojure to build my web app.
>>
>>108532450
What makes Clojure better for this than say Common Lisp? I’m only curious, but for making simple websites, would it be worth learning Clojure for as opposed to just using Common Lisp if you didn’t already know Clojure? I’ve never done any web dev stuff so I’m asking out of real interest here.
>>
>>108532574
I'm sorry, maybe someone else can answer.
You just reminded me about Common Lisp and I am wondering the same thing now.

I was just comparing Schemes to Clojure and I chose Clojure due to the mature web ecosystem.
>>
>>108532615
lol I was wondering exactly the same thing a while ago since I saw an online business near me is notorious for price gouging its customers but has no competitors so I was thinking of starting a simple alternative, but I’m so unwilling to do JS that I was considering Clojure vs CL vs even Scheme myself
>>
>>108532629
Well, what attracts me to Clojure as well is that you can write Clojure on the backend and also Clojurescript on the Front end. So you may not have to use JS with Clojure.

Every single game with Denuvo has been bypassed
Bypass is available for all denuvo games on day 0

Irdeto is seething hard and saying more invasive DRM is coming. I'm guessing they will demand kernel level access in later versions of Denuvo.

Will Microsoft allow them that?

rutracker's take
>By popular demand from the working class, we have tentatively allowed the publication of releases featuring the new-fangled hypervisor-based crack.
>The main downside of this method is that it is unsafe, as it requires disabling bootloader integrity checks and enabling test mode in order to load system drivers without a valid digital signature. This in itself makes your rig vulnerable to bootkit viruses, which gain control over the system even before it and its antivirus software start up. Don't do this if you have anything to lose.
>At the same time, it's worth noting that the aforementioned features only appeared in Windows Vista, and disabling them won't infect your computer on its own. Moreover, bootkits still exist today despite all modern precautions, and they survive by exploiting vulnerabilities in signed drivers or even motherboard firmware, rather than hoping a user has disabled system parameters that everyone has lived with for the last 20 years.
>At least 10 years ago, there was already software on the tracker whose crack required disabling these same protections. Everything new is just well-forgotten old stuff.

Personally, I am using a laptop. Some ThinkPad models are not as modular. I have an X1 Carbon; it is very good. I enjoy being able to move around. Sometimes the couch is uncomfortable, so I want to sit at my desk. Sometimes the desk is uncomfortable, so I want to sit on the couch. I respect the quality of ThinkPads. Do you prefer laptops (not limited to ThinkPads) or desktops?

Probably you could render animations on laptop if you're starting out and doing small stuff. I was about to buy a desktop for that, but I realized I'm kinda bullshitting myself about needing a strong rig.
>>
>>108525456
Only have a desktop atm. It nice but I'd love to buy one of these comfy looking small 14 inch Thinkpad soon I case I have to leave home for extended periods of time, but I don't know which models are good and which aren't. I need to look into this.
>>
>>108525456
I prefer desktop, since it's more comfortable for me, than a laptop. But I bought a old, broken Thinkpad recently for testing or when I'm traveling. Had to replace the fans. Sometimes I miss them though. They sounded like an old tractor starting up, when they start spinning.
