1tb is also expensive in china, but 512gb is a decent price right now on aliexpress, you'll have to make do with it
also you should never use gen 4 ssd on a laptop because you can't get it cooled with a heatsink, use gen 3, runs much cooler

>does that mean I'll have to point to my home server as a DNS provider or something?

Yes

The quick rundown on dns in a network is that when clients connect to your router, your router will hand them the address of a dns server that they should use. (It's also common for routers to advertise themselves as the dns server, and just forward requests from there). Either way, your router will have a setting that lets you set a DNS server that machines on the network should use, and you'll point that at the custom DNS server you run and everything will use that.

Note that applications are capable of having their own dns settings, for example if you go in your browser settings its possible to set a dns server there instead of using the system dns, so just be aware of that if you end up troubleshooting why something isn't going through your dns.

>I wouldn't have Viber installed if it wasn't for work
idk what your work setup is like but you should be aware that if you're using a work VPN those will often fuck with your dns settings

And dozens upon dozens of lazy devs hard-coded their colors.

There are custom themes for Win11 that dark theme Win32 UI, and Microsoft could do the same. But because of those lazy devs they don't want to open up to the liability of some corposlave having issues using software from 1997 they need to use in dark mode because whoever wrote it back then didn't give a shit about respecting the Win32 API so we're stuck in the decades old Windows bodge parade. Bring your own dark theme! (warranty void if used)

If Microsoft has ANY SENSE, they build on the success of the .NET/C# team.

Develop a WinForms successor that is cross platform, Windows/Mac/Linux. Exportable to the web as well kind of like Avalonia. Simple drag and drop style native UI design with the ability to tweak and refine in the code. Make this a part of the transition to native UI.

This shit would do numbers and wreck the current landscape. Everyone is dead fucking tired of working on front end sloppo for even the smallest apps and internal tools. The OG WinForms was a gateway drug for getting into C# itself because it was so easy and streamlined to work with for any kind of basic app.

The z80 camera software has non-modifiable software defaults that slightly zoom the lenses of the camera, so instead of getting a good 35/70mm setup you have to live with a good 35mm/fucked up 80mm setup and manually readjust back to 70mm every time. They did it with the z70 too, dipshits. Screen is identical the rm11, performance will be slightly degraded due to thermal throttling

I was happy with my redmi note 8t out the box but after like 3-4 years it became sluggish so I slapped lineage on it. Felt like the camera quality improved (moved to gcam with some config some random guy posted online) and it became a lot faster, but formatting might have done the latter too.
I didn't really have any issues with the stock OS

How much is one of those?
You have enough money to pay for pentesting but don't have $1000 to pay for claude max for a year?

not gemini.
codex limits are higher than claude's for now, but 2x promo period runs out tomorrow so we'll see what they're really like.
for $20 plan >>108512010 is good advice.
there are ways to use git branches and sub agents / set loops up but you'll be burning through quota needlessly. just plan in advance and set up a long checklist and if you tell it to implement the whole thing it usually won't stop until it's done.
if you're okay mixing agents you can try using the free ones in opencode when your quota runs out.
>>
>>108512010
so you're suggesting using plugins for an IDE and prompting for code to generate, then tweak it myself?
see I'm really itching to try the 'agentic' way, asking for changes, reviewing PRs and maybe asking the agent to modify the PR to make more changes before merging. but I can see how that could take even longer than just picking what I like.
as for the free trials, are either of them better than the rest? I'd like to avoid being cucked by daily usage limits, as I don't have much time to spend on this side project, so if I sat down to it, it would be like a day a week and it would really suck running out of tokens after an hour...
for this reason I wouldn't actually mind paying like 20 bucks for a month, to get it done.

I am checking the code from the GitHub repositories with the allegedly leaked source code and one thing I found is that the package.json files have the removed from the dependencies the program uses. There references inside the source code however, that can be used to reconstruct the thing.

Remember, this source code is for the Anthropic client, the novelty was try to understand how Anthropic understand MCP clients.

However if Operation Capy is real (I don't know if it is) and Anthropoid calculated the leak, they could easily create a "clean room" source code for the client so we can be looking a permutation of the original code but not the original code itself. Some kind of fugazi source. Not a forgery, because the code works and do the same, but would not be the real thing Anthro uses.

I will keep looking into this.

I compiled an autohotkey script into a simple executable that opens the snipping tool and allows me to either select an area, the current window, or the whole screen. Then after I close the snipping tool(it is only used for the clipboard storage of the desired image), I run that image data through a script that calls imagemagick to apply the drop shadow, pngout to reduce filesize, and then rename the file.
It sits in my notification tray and I simply Ctrl+Printscreen if I wish to take a screenshot. You can see the blue happycat icon here: https://i.4cdn.org/g/1774240101983185.png

to send a bug report/patch you don't need to be subscribed to the mailing list, you just send an email bug-gnu-emacs@gnu.org and it will be processed by debbugs (and maybe manually too? the only time i sent a patch it took a few hours to be processed) and then CC'd to the mailing list. i think you can also reply to a report without being subscribed to the list

Any Guix users on a foreign distro here? I run debian with a guix setup, but I have the problem that Debian packages keep getting intercepted by Guix profiles, specifically GTK packages via the GIO_EXTRA_MODULES envar. E.g. after a recent update I get
firefox-esr: symbol lookup error: /home/anon/profiles/network/lib/gio/modules/libdconfsettings.so: undefined symbol: g_once_init_enter_pointer

I can fix this for Firefox by simply removing the Guix envars via a shell script, but is there a sensible way of doing that for every GTK app? Real annoying innit.
>>
>>108511775
>but I have the problem that Debian packages keep getting intercepted by Guix profiles
My first guess would be to check if the guix paths inside those env vars are being prepended or appended.
If all the paths are at the end then it would give precedence to the debian versions over the guix ones.
