What was the greatest graphics card ever?
I'm thinking it was the 9800gtx. Having this in '08 was like unlocking every game in existence.

any higher end pascal card was just an objectively good purchase, 1070/1080 or their ti variants
the hd 7970 and its subsequent generations were great for a while
the 750ti, hands down, probably the most popular gpu of all time, just good value, capable, well supported
and going even older, geforce 6600 gt, 1gb 8800 gt and the hd 4870
all great options, if you bought any of them new in their prime they were long life, great value products

even buying them used, getting a used 1080 is still a fantastic choice now for regular use

apus have edged out any dedicated card with a tdp that could function as a single slot card. the latest intel I-gpus are on par with a 3050

I went and counted the thread number from the archives since you guys have betrayed the old ways.

Was going to post some progress but noticed there wasn't a thread up ...

I have a parser for some wordnet database files that I got running today. I'm working on a text adventure engine so I can make tabletop inspired games or games that will consist of modules. Stuff like that.

I shared this with /agdg/ earlier today but then I had to go to sleep.

Tried Vivaldi, bunch of gay ass notification popping that you can't disable every time something in the settings changes, or when I take a screenshot.
Can't even disable the fucking sidebar turd, just hide and wait for it to inevitably open again.

It's crazy how shitty the browser scene has become

Super common, and nothing wrong with it. You have a small piece of logic equipment or such out in the field that needs local storage. What do you use, instead? Spinny disks and SSDs are too large. On-board storage is fine, but at that point why not make it a component that can be field removed, replaced, is standardized, and has good capacity? SD or MicroSD is perfect.
>>
>>107606969
Yes, and since pSLC is less dense, there will be no speed penalty when you reshuffle to TLC even if it is on the same NAND. Use your fucking brain, this is literally grade school math we're talking about here.
>>
>>107606993
I kinda blame youtube channels like Linus tech tips for spreading misinfo about different flash media to normies.
A MicroSD from a reputable brand will be just as reliable as an SSD from that same brand.
I guess you can also put blame on Amazon and Aliexpress for 2TB SD listings for $20 and retards falling for it.

somehow uses more of my ram and cpu than kde and i dont like it. i get the feeling they just copied other existing projects but this time with rust and its just fucky. it doesnt even feel or look good to use IDK how you make something feel more sluggish than kde
>>
>>107607470
Yeah it's pretty easy to theme. You can't make it a Windows XP clone or anything, but the dock and panel are basically the same thing just with different settings and and applets. I'd recommend removing rounded corners, compact UI, remove the dock + put the panel on the bottom, resize to taste, and find a color scheme you like on their website or via cosmic-tweaks.

The RAM shortage can literally last forever. Just because the OpenAI contract ends in 2026 doesnt mean another contract cant be created.
You're putting the cart before the horse assuming that OpenAI will fail when the contract is over. Its way way too soon to call it.

AI has its uses, and will stay. At the same time, the current bubble around OpenAI etc isn't sustainable.

It takes 10 years to scale in. Demand will collapse first.

>Judd increase the supply and the costs will come down lmao.
Companies are reluctant to do that exactly because if the bubble pops then oversupply will crater prices.
