The AI companies still aren't charging anywhere near the cost of their service. They're still selling at a loss and they get away with it by continuing to burn investor money. We won't see the actual prices until investment has mostly dried up, which could happen in 2 weeks or never. It will be really funny once companies see the actual cost of using AI because I'm pretty confident it will be more expensive than writing code by hand in the long run.

Problem one: A good and widespread answer to the question of "why should I switch from Windows?" Which to the average normie, does not exist.Problem two: Linux's strength is also its weakness as far as popularity. It has thousands of people from all over the world working on it and contributing to it and building distros. But it also means you have thousands of different ways of doing everything and there's no cohesion or unification.Problem three: even if there became one decided upon distro and set of packages, there is still no distro with the level of "just werks" that windows and macos have. Problem Four: it does not come pre-installed. At the very least until there's a single .exe you can click on windows that backs up all your shit, installs the distro, and then reboots and you're in - there's no chance. Problem Five: software adoption. A chicken and egg problem here. Devs don't make a linux version because nobody uses it, and nobody uses linux because devs don't make linux versions of apps. They need a built in proton or rosetta like subsystem that can just run .exe files. So problems 2 through 5 would have to be solved beforehand, and then problem 1 would require a bit of luck in somehow achievement a widespread viral cultural moment where people suddenly cared to change.
I got rid of all of iCloud, now storing everything locally with a NAS with raid drives. I am hosting my own Bitwarden passwords. I have deleted all my gmail accounts and changed to proton. Now next step is getting rid of my iPhone and getting a nice little gay cheap phone with almost no features. I’m excited to get rid of all of jewgle and mossadpple. How comes nobody talks about Nvidia Reflex?
>>108524806What's the value proposition and risk?
People are retarded and Nvidia rather does marketing something else. Because of bad Vsync implementations and resulting high input lag, they get away with frame generation. They just use reflex to don't feel worse. You could just use reflex to make 60 fps really good. Better than shit 100 fps even.

He's not allowed to be bitter about how he wasted several years of his life before realizing that operating systems don't actually provide any value proposition on their own? Web browsers in contrast by definition are automatically compatible with the largest library of software ever made.
