Why do people buy shit like android boxes, Apple TV and pic related instead of just connecting an old phone to the TV with a HDMI cable?

I refuse to download a fucking .exe manually every time I need to update, which is why I keep using non-fully-free Chrome alternatives.

My base latency is so high that any queue management is pointless.
This is in a medium city in England. Between the hours 20-22 the speed drops to 2-3 Mbit/s unless I lock the modem to a specific band on a specific tower which primarily serves an area with office buildings, pic related.
On the closest tower, the latencies often exceed 100ms under moderate load and 250ms under heavy load.

But... the result is you can prioritize certain traffic. So that is the same.

Why would you complicate something that's already done for you? Many ordinary routers have this now, OpenWRT or whatever too of course.

Still, two different things. Doing different things with different goals. You can have both at the same time.

Airspyhf+
>>
I hate these chink radios, they have a nasty receiver. But at the price it's tough to beat wtihout learning all about all the radios out there. SDRs also suck, for several reasons. The low-cost ones anyway. I suppose both are better than nothing at all but for shortwaver reception there are much better and more pleasant sounding radios out there.

>>107587677
I think they stopped making the chips lol, I know for a fact they stopped making the transmitter interfaces for that. The thing that would generate the IBOC signal and kinda overlay that on their analog output. See the HD radio people only made one product for the broadcaster, something you jam into the signal chain right before you inject it into the transmitter.

If you can get one, the little tiny Sony HD radio, XDR-F1HD, is exceptional and also has the best ever measured broadcast FM reception capability. It blows away the big fancy expensive ones, every one of them. Only thing is it's small and kind of ugly so it doesn't fit into a nice hifi rack very impressively.

I love how simple and comfy GNOME is, it feels like therapy for the brain compared to all the other complex bloated option trap software like Windows, macOS, OneUI, iOS. It's just a shame that no software/hardware supports linux. But if one day linux were to be supported I'd switch to GNOME in a heartbeat, it's genuinely the best DE in the world.

For the past two weeks my messages on live streams wont show in top comments of youtube streams, they only show in live comments, and they tend not to be restreamed into the live stream video feed when the streamer has something like that set up. I can't seem to find any answers to this either googling or searching youtube videos. I never even use curse words, so I don't suspect I've been shadow banned. I reckon this is some kind of bug or glitch that can happen, and only clearing the cache might resolve it. I remember the captcha breaking on 4chan a year ago, and fixing it involved deleting cookies and cache. Have you experienced anything similar?

that's probably just in HDR mode displaying HDR content. It'll get nowhere near that bright in anything else, in fact it'll be programmed in the firmware to never get anywhere close to that bright with any other content. Even then that HDR Peak Brightness will only cover a fraction of a fraction of the actual panel.

I hate the Windows buttons myself, I don't use either of them nearly enough to justify having them in such important spots, and the start menu itself is nowhere near as useful as it used to be. I just got a new keyboard, but once that one stops working I'm gonna get one of these, just so I don't have to deal with fat fingering them while I'm typing shit.
