The only thing I have found no alternative for is google maps. Well, there are "alternatives" in apple maps (just swapping one for the other) and Waze (literally owned by google), but no proper alternatives for live traffic and road status data. IF you're driving in a big city where they will randomly close roads for roadworks or bullshit events or whatever, and traffic varies wildly with time of day and day of weak and whatever meme is happening right this moment, it's a major help and there's no way to get it without selling yourself out to the botnet.

Everything else is pretty easy to go without. There's tons of email providers, I have unironically been entirely on cockli + my own domain (with cheap paid email hosting) for over a decade. Search is all pretty shit but google is no better, you can use duckduckgo or startpage or even pay for Kagi (I don't but I've heard it's actually good, dunno if it's worth trusting though). What else, google drive? A NAS is not trivial to set up but extremely well documented, just takes some effort.

Oh yeah, and the other thing I use google for is work, because I'm unfortunately not able to tell my company "yeah let's just not pay for the standard corporate workspace and instead put together something autistic like nextcloud". I don't really count that since it's on a work account, only does work-related stuff, and the account will be deactivated as soon as I switch jobs within a couple of years.
