Funny beard guy does mildly amusing things. Funny beard guy is so funny. Funny beard guy is so hilarious, you couldn't even begin to comprehend how hilarious he is. It's not that big of a fucking deal. Why don't you shit on Stallman? Or Torvalds? Or someone who actually fucking matters? Ebassi is a random dev who got off center by a little bit. That's the beginning and end of it. Now pack up your shit and leave.
It wasn't funny the first time. It isn't funny now. It won't be funny on the n'th occasion, or the n+1'th occasion, or the n+2'th occasion, or...you get the idea.
In other words:
SHUT THE FUCK UP.
>>
All you fucking idiots can think about is "haha funny beard guy." You've literally made thousands of fucking posts throwing tantrums about Ebassi over several years. That definitely isn't a productive use of your time.

I still don't understand how making a sokoban game, a babby's first game engine that is just a renderer and imgui on top and a programming language that no one will ever use is going to save civilization?

When will we have actual, functional Star Trek "Computer, do what I want" style AI?

Example:
>Computer, find me that thread on /g/ that I meant to reply to but forgot, it has a post that says something like XYZ and an image that kind of looks like so-an-so in it
and it can do it.
or
>Computer, filter all posts that look remotely like a soijak

When do we get something that is directly integrated with our daily tasks and can do shit for us with only basic abstract instructions?

>inb4 ai deletes your hard drive
obviously some safeguards are requisite
Right now, most AI I see are dedicated to generating images or answering technical questions/generating code. I want AI to just greatly improve the efficiency of every single stupid thing I waste time on during the day, even if it's only like 80% accurate.

How bumpy is space?
While driving I have trouble hitting shit on the screen if the road is even a bit bumpy or if I have to steer the car. The climate control has buttons for everything so I don't even have to look, meaning I can adjust while steering, and I can physically touch the button to locate it before pressing it.

To be fair apple had automatic email responses that took voice input and dictation, and would announce when and from whom you’ve received mail as far back as 2006. My buddy from achool’s father was an apple rep for a computer store so he got the retatdefly expensive stuff comparatively cheaply. Voice to text and text to voice was basically solved almost two decades ago, but only for niche or very specific contexts. It’s the generalizing that has proven difficult.

>i remember those times and those terms were just used for tech illiterates because it would communicate the concept well enough. the mac was still a PC at the time
Other way around actually. Calling everything a PC was easier to the tech illiterate to sell.
Anyone with a brain used PC, Mac, Amiga, Atari, etc as a platform, otherwise you'd end up buying software (or even hardware) for the wrong platform.

Like imagine mail ordering something from a distributor, saying PC and getting a DOS copy of a game instead of ST.
>>
>>107534182
>Like imagine mail ordering something from a distributor, saying PC and getting a DOS copy of a game instead of ST.
right, that's why the term stuck. because of tech illiterates. they're all PCs, but illiterates (in all subjects) catch on to a certain term for a certain kind of thing, so the retail industry follows. you ask for "PC" you get something for a certain kind of PC because that's what youre expecting.

>personal computer like a computer you own and use yourself and not a work computer,server...
exactly, but >
What happens if you own the device, but it runs programs out of your control? Like spyware, pup's, malware or intrusive ads?
Is it still a 'personal' computer then? Are you still the 'owner' or has it become a subscription?

Yes but you can disable it or earn BAT coins by watching advertising
>>
>>107530869
Huh?
>>
>>107532860
Unironic question about Brave's BAT, what can you do with it? Is there any use for it?
>>
>>107533093
The original way that it was billed was that you could earn this crypto and then exchange it for money, which sounds nice. However, when you do the math, and yes, I have done the math, you would need to Interact with 30 advertisements per day every day for a month in order to earn $5. Then you would have to take that $5 to a crypto exchange which supported BAT In order to convert it to an actual legitimate crypto like Bitcoin, which incurs pay service fee. And then there's another service fee to withdraw that as cash or to deposit it onto a credit card or into a bank account.

So no, at the end of the day you can't actually use it for anything because the amount of money that you would get back is so tiny and the amount of such extensive ad viewing you'd have to do to earn it in the first place is insane.

Intel is still better on laptops. They use less power than AMD for web browsing and watching video and when you do actual work, they outperform AMD's best as well.

On the desktop AMD is far ahead.

Linux music players are technology. So let me shill the most amazing one that design focused GNOMERs will know to appreciate (KDE users do not reply) (posted from KDE)

the name is

Euphonica (flatpak installed) [MPD client with delusions of grandeur]

it's an MPD client, MPD is a cock to setup that makes no sense whatsoever to have in current year, but THIS is the besst music player client ever made on Lonisx OS +gnu/. I know because I tried all of them, Gappless, Recordbox, Amberol, Vvave(shit), Tauron(autistic and yet not that feature'full), Strawberry(just why?)...

No it doesn't have all the features, but this is the best UX (excluding having to install a worthless suckless-nile music streaming server)

Sayonara and especially Elisia are banned from this thread. THanks and discuss. What music player do you use?

just switched to desktop linux, im using audacious right now but im not in love. what i really NEED is something that works with like 30000 songs and lets me have a global shortcut to skip to a random song, but then continue playing the as normal from that random song. Foobar did this but I can't figure out how to do it in audacious, best i can do is a shortcut to toggle shuffle. Any suggestions?

the ISA is open source, which is a purely legalfag distinction because the x86 ISA is also fully documented and nothing physically stops you from making an x86 compatible CPU except for the threat of Intel goons showing up at your door and demanding money.
