You can split screen between the document and notes or you can insert blank pages in a document to write on. Otherwise you'd have to use the application switcher via gesture or keyboard shortcut, I don't think there's an option to directly tab between two programs.

Can you just insert random blank pages while reading a document? That would be ideal.

Super specific but can you make the split horizontal and super small? The vertical split doesn’t look like it gives you much room to write.

Thank you anon.

For pdf at least, maybe some other fixed layout formats.
You can pick both horizontal and vertical splits. I'm not sure if you can adjust the split ratio as I'm not on the newest software version.

not really.
std lib sucks.
Compilers been buggy since 0.9- 2.X,X, and it's extremely slow to build. (D's ref compiler can spit out 20 errors before Nim's can even finish figuring out the errors).
And the Araq borderline abandons 2.0 to chase 3.0
And they're only just now adding incremental comp.
Here's hoping Nimony (3.0) Fixes Everything™ but i'm sure it won't and Araq will find something else to tinker away with and promise 4.0 will Fix Everything™
>>
>>107927965
They are adding ic to nim 2.
Plus Araq said nim3 is delayed because they put more effort on nim2.

Brave is really good. Yes, there's a ton of bloat that you need to turn off on a fresh install, but then it's the best chromium option unless your toaster needs something less resource-intensive.
Helium is also very good, but its early in development and didn't have basic features I am used to like vertical tabs. I am excited to see how Helium progresses.

>>107927679
This is wrong. The telemetry is open-sourced and anonymized. It's called 3PA and you can check it yourself. Parts of the server side code is not open sourced like the anti-fraud code. Brave Search is also completely closed source, if my memory serves me right.

for those here who use password managers, do you store important passwords like for your email account in the pw manager? I'm asking because I'm thinking about starting to use a pw manager, but I don't know if it is generally considered safe to put email etc. into there.

I read one comment on a website saying that you can let the pw manager remember half of a password (16+ characters of random letters and digits, so very strong), and then you also have a memorized password, in itself strong, which you add on top of the randomized password that is in the pw manager. gives you only one more password to remember, while it gives you much more safety in case someone should be able to hack into your pw manager.

it seems like a great system, but after a fair bit of reading about pw managers I've only seen one comment that mentioned something like this. and the system is so simple that if it was truly a good system, you would think more people would recommend it? so I feel a bit unsure if this system isn't really as foolproof as it seems.

do anyone here use this system? or do you think it seems unnecessary?

I use keepassxc for everything, can't bring myself to use online password managers.

I have been using passkeys for the last few months. They are promising but buggy. I hope they replace passwords soon. I am tired of setting up 2fa, backing up the database and keeping it up to date cycle.
>>
Obviously you have to use a password manager, imagine using the same email + password combo multiple places if one gets hacked they have access to all of those accounts. Which is the number 1 way people get hacked.

The main problem with a password manager is that you need to maintain it backed up on multiple devices and synchronized so if your main device dies or is lost you dont lose everything.
>>
>>107924591
Aren't passkeys cursed? I keep hearing that they refuse to let you access the private key in any way, lest you act like the average retard user and get phished. The result is that I would never trust a passkey because unlike my passwords in keepassxc, I can't sync or export them.
I like the idea of using asymmetric encryption and it works wonderfully for ssh but I can never expect anything good to happen when retarded users and lock-in obsessed platforms get involved. I would rather have passwords than that fucking mess.

use case for key reuse when you can & should just authorise another key?
>lock-in obsessed platforms
WebAuthn is a W3C standard and every mainstream OS has native support for it except Linux.
>retarded users
still way more retard-proof than passwords. besides, a lot of people already use biometrics to unlock their phones; Apple/Google password managers are actively encouraging biometrics, using passkeys where possible and generating passwords as a fallback.

People go to school to learn how to make a living. If you rely on AI like your "friends" you are going to be unemployed.
>>
>>107927129
How can these tards understand code if they're not even learning to code in the first place? They are learning to put a bunch of shit into a prompt and crossing their fingers that AI can figure it all out for them. They don't realize they are making themselves irrelevant. It's really sad. Ie. for what the fuck does a manager need some tard to enter prompts into AI for the answer if the manager can just do that himself? Idiots.

Vanilla Chamomile sounds really tasty. Do you use any kind of sweetener? We got some pretty heavy snow for about two days, but after that it's just been sunny and cold. I don't know if I would call it an arctic blast, but it certainly was quite a bit of snow for the time of the year.

I use AI generated excel files for my job. I do bullshit construction estimates and I basically uploaded our company's .pdfs and .ppts training manual on how to estimate costs of shit like roofs, tiles, rebars, paint, whatever shit on a construction site. Granted, you still need to look at the CAD drawings but now you just copy values from schedules/tables from the CAD file, paste it into the excel files, and then you get a .PDF of tables with the costs and reports and everything. Don't care if it's 1%-5% more expensive or whatever (construction is mafia money anyways they can afford that shit), the money won't kill anybody and it's the structural engineer's responsibility if the building fails lol.

Unfixing it by putting something sticky or padded under the button might make it look like I am lying about its initial condition.

I kinda sorta want to keep it since it was an okay deal (?) at 320+30 taxes for 9850H, t1000, 48gib, no ssd, minor wear, fair battery, w/ charger, and good screen, but I guess I don’t really NEED it? I don’t know; either way I will be crying and regretting my decision.
