My friends and I do karaoke with some stem splitting service. It works fine, but we have issues timing the songs. Does anyone know a service that can take the vocal stem and turn it into a follow along track? The lyrics don't have to be right, it just needs to cue us in at the right times.
>>
I'm not aware of anything. You'd probably have more luck actually asking this in an OSU thread on /vg/ or something since proper karaoke never happens over the internet but rhythm games have to solve the same problem.
>>
>>107746796
bumperinos, I want to do exactly this but with audiobooks so I can read while listening
>>
I'm only bringing this up since it's been 16 hours without a reply, if you run a song through whisper.cpp with the --max-len 1 argument and then mux the subtitle file into the karaoke version, with a blank video if needed, you'll get something that will at least be pretty close for the beginnings of words. Command might be something like ffmpeg -loop 1 -i blackbackground.jpg -i karaoke.mp3 -i whisper.srt -c copy out.mkv
I also found https://github.com/nomadkaraoke/karaoke-gen but just from looking over the readme I'm not sure if it actually does that part you need.
>>
>>107749220
Thank you, I'll check there
>>107752802
I'll look into this, it seems so strange that there's not even a crappy "timed voice to text" program out there.
>>
>>107746796
I would recommend using a service like karafun, I think you can do lyrics and timing for custom songs with it. I haven't used it but it's a very good service.

Otherwise you might have to use some custom open source thing out there.

>Song submission rules/guidelines
Upload the file somewhere, preferably in a lossless format, and post the link here. If you want to update your track, make a new post.
Include the song title in the post, and make it clear that your song is a submission for the album.
Optionally you may include cover art for your track, but please confirm that the image in your post is the cover art or it won't be included. You may not use your real artist name.
Songs that contain anything against YouTube's policies won't be uploaded on YT, but will still be added to the album.
By default, tracks will be normalised to -14 LUFS (integrated loudness) in the release. You may specify a lower loudness for your track.
Use of AI is banned. This includes AI generated stems, samples, and effects. "AI" includes all neural network-based models and not hard-coded automation/procedural generation. You are allowed to ask an LLM about music-related questions, but asking it to give you musical ideas (eg. generating a chord progression) is already a no-no.

I'm looking for a more hardware-like experience. I'm thinking about getting either a midi controller with motorized faders or a touchscreen to put the mixer on. What do you think, is turning knobs on a touchscreen a good experience? I'm using Bitwig btw.

Well, Ahmad, unfortunately I did not have a high quality camera back in 2007. And, I didn't think the world was going to change more drastically in the 2007-2017 time span than at any other decade in my life, so, I didn't think to take pics with my non existent camera.
>>
>>107753812
>unfortunately I did not have a high quality camera back in 2007
My parents did not have one either. Not in 2007, not in 1997 either, but they still made a bunch of photos with numerous shitty, low quality cameras, and not just usual family stuff, but environments too. I recently digitized those myself, because unlike you, a dumb nigger who in same breath complains about corporation owning everything and exclaims "how dare greedy corporation not do things in my stead", I actually gave a minimal amount of fucks about this data and it's preservation.
You see, if you actually care about something, you go and do it, however shitty result will be. If the sentiment is "ugh, ew, this is now high quality enough, I want ten billion pixels instead of mere five", then you are just virtue signaling - not unlike corporations, btw.

Democracy is 2500 years old, should have been evolved everywhere by now.
>and a small country allows easy governance.
Ireland, Iceland, Scandinavia, the Baltic states are all about the same size yet without as direct a democracy as that of Switzerland. My hunch is that it somehow relates to the Iron Law of the Oligarchy but I cannot see how the Swiss, of all people, could evade this. When Europe inevitably falls, perhaps Switzerland remains the only island of freedom.

Democracy is a lie, only the elites get to choose who is chosen. That's what makes it so cyberpunk and so cool.

My dad has an old copy of Windows 7 but he is too scared to use it due to obsolete system and vulnerabilities. Are there community patches for that sort of thing? He hates the enshittification of windows 11 and even 10 because he doesn't want to upgrade his pc, every time Microsoft installs more niggerware on his computer it gets slower.

So how do we get nonbloated windows os? It is impossible or are there ways to do it without being sniped by Ranjeesh and a gorillion chinese hackers?
