A few days ago, something really interesting happened: For the first time, an AI generated a mathematical proof that was not yet known: https://www.erdosproblems.com/728In most cases where this has happened, it was later discovered that a solution already existed in the literature, but this problem had been formulated incorrectly and was only corrected a few months ago, which means there was no prior literature on it.Sometimes of you say that AI will be limited by "not being able to create new things," but I think this case shows that it's not quite like that at all, and that most people are still underestimating AIs.
>>107832560It says right there similar results proven by similar methods. The proof method existed. Anyone that made this connection by wading through a bunch of literature could have done this.
>>107842497it is not a condensed decision tree, it is a condensed database and the query language happen to be natural, that is all.
>>107832560This is expected. Maybe if ai were used for research instead of Jewish death squads in Gaza you normies would know about this already

install fault on HP 15-fd0083wmI downloaded and created my USB installer drive directly from the Elementary OS website. it works in live mode. when I try to "erase disk and install" it instantly faults and cannot install. id does this even after a clean format. after some searching I tried "custom install" option after using Gparted to format the drive and create partitions (512MB for FAT32 boot) and then the rest as ext4. then when I return to the installer and select "custom install" and select my partitions, the windows overlap in such a way I cannot see, select or confirm anything on the partitions. resizing the primary installer window does nothing. additionally, I only seem able to select the 512MB FAT32 partition, and have been unable to select the larger partition.apparently there is/are known issues with the installer on some computers. my craptop has an UFS SSD which is also probably an issue. something about recognition? I've read so much shit it's all starting to run together in my brain.I got Mint XFCE installed and running on it last night. that also took some finesse, again, I believe, because of the UFS. after several terminal entries in Live, i was able to get it running normally. despite that, I would prefer to run Elementary if at all possible. I have tried forums, GIThub threads and Grok to assess, diagnose and mitigate. still no joy. This is my second Linux install ever and I am not a "computer guy" by any stretch.this computer has a nearly identical origin story to the last one I posted aboot here. it was left behind when a tenant moved out of an apartment presumably because of a bad battery. I got a free battery from Amazon Vine, and was able to get it to boot. being that it is 8 years newer than my Stream 11-Y010, faster and more storage, in dont *need* to run the bare bones Mint XFCE. I would like something a bit more modern and stylish, ie: Elementary 8.1What say you Anon?

>>107851763I haven't heard much about these but looking it up yeah it sounds like it's miniled but with coloured backlights. No idea if it's good or not.By the way another different (and mostly unrelated) monitor type is microLED, not to be confused with any of the above if you see it. Microled is basically like an OLED (each individual pixel is its own LED and can be individually turned off) but using normal semiconductor LEDs rather than organic LEDs, thus eliminating OLED issues like burn-in and being the best of both worlds. This doesn't exist yet outside of niche applications because it's very hard to manufacture at typical monitor sizes; afaik they can make tiny microLEDs (I think some VR headsets are starting to use them) and giant ones, but nothing desktop monitor sized. And of course it's unrelated to either miniLED nor "micro RGB", which are just backlight setups behind a normal LCD panel of your choice.
